England to play two test matches in Sri Lanka in March-April 2012.Tag
Eng-SL-2012
A lot goes into an overseas tour by an international team but it seems like England organisers are reluctant to send their team away from home for long specially in Asia.It helps them keep their players fresh and aggressive which often goes away when you stay away from home for a long time. It's been more than a decade when England last won a test match on Sri Lankan soil and in March and April 2012, they'll try twice again. England have gone twice to Sri Lanka since their triumphant tour in 2001 and lost 2 tests and drawn other 4. England will play one practice match against a local team which will be announced at a later date before their first test match against Sri Lanka from 27th March 2012. The first test will be played at Galle international ground. Second England v Sri Lanka test will be begining 3rd April 2012 although the venue hasn't been announced yet. England will not be playing any ODI or twenty20 on this tour, which probably will be organised at a later date in coming years.
