1st ODI : Bell's brilliant century wipes out Windies chances.

Windies may have lost the test series, there were sessions when they put more than decent fight against English side and now in one day internationals, with several star players coming back, visitors were even tipped as favorites but as it turned out, home team dominated the play to a comfortable win by 114 runs..

Ian Bell, playing through a cut in the chin he got yesterday during practice sessions, made sure he didn't throw away the opporunity that came his way only because Kevin Pietersen retired from limited overs format last fortnight. Bell made his second ODI century, a classical 126 not out, equally his best score as well which also came at the same venue five ... .. Read complete article

3rd test : Rain wins at Edgbaston, England take series 2-0.

It was the first time in almost 50 years when rain washed the first two days of an English home test ever. and once that happened, there was a very slim chance that either team would get a win at Edgbaston. After two days of play, a draw was almost inevitable. On the final day of the last test match between England and the West Indies, the thunder-Gods were in a playful mood again, as the rains stopped the match as it was.

Play was abandoned a long time after the day started with showers. The umpires should have called it earlier but they waited till the last minute, just to make sure. By the time it was ... .. Read complete article

2nd test : Windies fight again but England score an easy win.

West Indies appeared to be in command despite having lost early wickets on day one. Despite having lost Chandrpaul and half the team, Samuels made an unbeaten century and captain Darren Sammy was unbeaten on 88 as West Indies, at 304/6 walked back to the pavilion, satisfied with the way things went. The English bowlers were brilliant initially but later on it appeared that they were either too tired or had suddenly lost any bite that they had within.

Sammy made his maiden test century on day two. Having turned the game totally around for the Windies with Samuels, Sammy should have kept an eye on a big match-winning score. However, despite having had an easy start with ... .. Read complete article

Rain eats up first warm-up for Windies, only 34 overs possible.

Rain is never far away from England, specially when summer is only breaking through. West Indies have embarked on English tour early in cricketing season but they were left frustrated by rain which allowed only 34 overs in their first 3 day warm-up match..

Day 1 was a huge disappointment for visitors as not a single ball was bowled at Probiz county ground due to persistent rain. Moreover, Windies had just 11 fit players out of 12 that are currently in England (Fidel Edwards is still struggling with back problems) while 3 others awaited visa clearance.

Match finally started in the afternoon of day 2 after overnight rain had left outfield soggy. Visitors elected to bat ... .. Read complete article

Schedule : West Indies tour of England : May & June 2012.

Since long, West Indies have been touring England to start off new season almost every second or third year but in last few decades, Caribbean team hasn't been as competitive as they used to be. Anyway, Windies at least form a good punching bag for boxing English team to prepare before they fight tough battle against South Africans this year 2012..

It's been a dozen years when West Indies last won a test match in England, beating them at Edgbaston back in June 2000, losing 12 tests and drawing only twice since then. Can we expect an improved performance from visitors this time? unlikely because English pitches will be fresh and weather extremely cold as 3 tests, 3 ... .. Read complete article
