Chris Gayle of Royal Challengers Bangalore holds the record of most runs in an IPL season, beating Sachin Tendulkar's 618 runs that he made in year 2010. Gayle is still going strong in 2012 series so he may set the standard much higher in coming days..

Brendon McCullum, in very first match of first IPL season, smashed 13 sixes in his innings which remained the record of most sixes by a batsman in an innings in IPL for over five seasons untill Chris Gayle, on 23 April 2013, sent Pune Warriors to the dry cleaners, smashing no less than 17 big ones as he marched to fastest century and highest score in the format..
Opening the innings, Gayle remained unbeaten on 175 that day. The bowlers who suffered most by the bat of Jamaican left hander were Mitchell Marsh and Ali Murtaza (5 sixes each), Aaron Finch (4 sixes, in just one over), Ashoke Dinda (2 sixes) and Luke Wright (1 six).

Evolution of IPL has been a big blessing for young cricketers in India. Every second kid in the country holds bat & ball dreaming of winning the crowd over but very few of them get to perform in front of thousands untill this tournament came around in 2008. First class cricket in India continues to be ignored but IPL means a stage equivalent to International and happy career for sure..

An IPL match or any cricket game for that matter is at it's best when result isn't known untill the last delivery is bowled. preferbly tall totals, cricket fans don't mind low scoring thrillers either once in a while given that chase was intriguing..

Batting in cricket is about partnerships but in IPL, batters job get little tougher cause teams are made up of players from various different country and hence the adjustment..
The highest partnership in IPL matches is 206, between Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh, both Aussies, playing for Kings XI Punjab against Bangalore. They broke the record held by Gilchrist and VVS Laxman which came against Mumbai Indians. Deccan were chasing 155 in the first edition and they won the game without being saperated, which means this is also the highest opening partnership in Indian Premier League.

If there is an almost as much tougher twenty20 stage than international matches, its IPL and hence, if there is a list that's second most pretigious to have a name in to highest T20 score, is highest individual score in IPL, of which we have a list in following..
Chris Gayle, the big Jamaican, has easily been the most dangerous batsman in IPL and he proved it to Pune Warriors on 23rd April 2013, smashing the highest score in T20 cricket anywhere in the world as well as the fastest century in the tournament, off just 30 balls! Gayle hit 17 sixes, the most by any batsman in an inning.

Fastest century in IPL matches is little too ambitious list to hunt for cause a three figure individual score = hundred in T20 cricket in itself is a huge achievement. Having said that, thanks to the number of matches played in Indian premier league each year, more and more centuries are expected to be scored and hence who got there the quickest (of fewest balls) makes an interesting read.
