India vs Australia : all cricket test match list

There has been just two test matches that ended in a tie. Australia vs West Indies at Brisbane (1960) and Australia vs India at Chennai (1986).

Since this article covers the summary of India vs Australia tests (The Border-Gawaskar Trophy), we'll stick to the Tied Test match II, but first, its important to make clear - what is a tied test match? A team has to take 20 opposition wickets (either declared or dismiss the batsman or send them to hospital) to win a test match! Draw happens when no team is bowled out twice within speculated time.. now a tie is a test match when a team chasing 4th innings target (lets say 201) and manages ... .. Read complete article

India remind who are the twenty20 champions

8 twenty20 matches, 6 wins. add a world cup, and then a beautiful smile from a special lady to go with a thumping win over cricketing champions Australia.. certainly, Indian team couldn't have scripted the Brabourne evening any better.

But hey, there was Shah Rukh Khan (with wife), Sachin Tendulkar, Raveen Tondon (with husband), Sunil Gawaskar, Ravi Shastri too with plenty of politicians, watching Australia's try to better their twenty20 International record (they've lost 6 from 12 T20 matches so far). Nearly all CCI stadium in Mumbai was smiling and claping, although the cheer leaders/dancing girls were not as attractive (I'd to say that) as we saw in T20 World Cup in South Africa.. why did that ... .. Whose fans are racist more? Part 1

On normal days, Itsonlycricket doesn't pick these kind of topics. Discussing racism and abuse by some tiny section of fans among 50,000 cricket lovers at a stadium is possible at any ground in the world. Wankhede in Mumbai is not the first and you bet it won't be last where a group of friends went (just) over the line while interacting with an International cricketer. What happened to Andrew Symonds (someone mimicked him as monkey during 7th Ind v Aus ODI) happens all over the world.

There's hardly any racism in it. why publise the issue when cricket already has even bigger ones. Its a waste of time for me as a writer, and you as a reader. ... .. Read complete article

India win dead-rubber, to smile at the end.

How many times do you see 3 Australian batsman get out off the first ball they face, and champion team is under threat to being bowled out inside 33 overs? not too often I'm sure, but zip over each delivery Murali Karthik bowled today at Mumbai was something exceptional as well. He twice was on a hat-trick..

In fact, at one time, Captain Dhoni had to slow down the Australian batting (by calling the physio & get some treatment) so that India don't come out to chase their target with just 10 mins of break. I'll explain more in the notes part, but believe me - Australia had no clue how to negotiate left arm spin of Murali ... .. Read complete article

Constant cricket costs India another ODI

India vs Australia, 6th ODI Nagpur : Australia won by 18 runs and got unattainable 4-1 lead in the Future Cup series with Mumabi onedayer to play.

Trust me, I've huge respect to the cricket played by opposing teams, but the way I see it - India lost this Nagpur ODI because of constant cricket they're playing, and little because Andrew Symonds struck 107 notout thumping runs. from just 88 balls.

17 One day Internationals has been played by India cricket team, from 23rd June until today. Including 3 test matches in England, a rained off tie against Scotlant & Pakistan at Glasgow. not to mention the T20 world cup we won in between.

Forget the cup : time to try not losing home series

India vs Australia 5th ODI, Vadodara : Aussies win emphatically with 9 wickets. Lead the series 3-1 with 2 to go.

There was too much spin for our bowlers, so they missed the edge. We batted first, so early swinging conditions helped left armer Mitchell Johnson. bad run out cost us the initiative whereas ageing Gilly timed the ball remarkably for us to have any chance..

I can make few more patches, but one thing is for sure - holes in Indian cricket team won't be filled as easily. I wonder what team meetings do Indian team have, cause they never device anything new. whereas Aussie game plan to every batsman, every bowler & every fielder ... .. Read complete article

Forget whitewash, think about the series

At first success, try not to get astonished. war aint over yet!

and I'm glad that's exactly how body language of Captain Dhoni reacted once final ball was bowled and India had won the Sector 16, Chandigrah one day match. Sure there was a team hurdle afterwards, but every Indian cricketer on field knew there was nothing to get relaxed about. their work had just began.

India vs Australia, 4th ODI Chandigrah : India won by 8 runs. Australia still lead the series 2-1 with 3 more games at Baroda, Nagpur & Mumbai to go

The look in Australian camp was like they had lost the series, but it was just a cricket ... .. Read complete article

Another stamping win, another dream broken.

India vs Australia, 3rd ODI at Hyderabad. The future cup : Australia won by 47 runs. Lead the series 2-0 with 4 to play.

9 times out 11 that Australia have batted first in an one day International, they have crossed the mark of 300. The other two instances were 281 in world cup final against Sri Lanka and today against India at Visaka stadium in hyderabad. But it hardly started that way..

At the 10th over mark, Australia were 61 for no loss, and accelerating. Looked good for first over 400 score on Indian pitch. Then -- Double blow from Irfan Pathan turning things around completely. not to mention Ricky Ponting playing his first match ... .. Read complete article

Aussies looked home team at Kochi, Indians tired

2nd ODI : India vs Australia, Kochi. Australia won by 84 runs, lead the Future Cup 7 ODI series 1-0 with 5 to go.

With the arrival of twenty20 format, 50 over matches (one day internationals) appear to be the shortest version test matches. Not for in-out cricket crazy like me, but 6 known people to me have complained ODIs seeming longer since African tournaments final.

Its also very possible that batting teams fail to play their full quota of 50 overs, and thus score less than required to win a game.

In similar state looks Indian team since they've come back from world cup. Seniors (read Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Zaheer Khan) ... .. Read complete article

Clarke special conflicts rain's date with Chinnasawmy

1st Ind v Aus Future Cup ODI, Bangalore. Result : 2nd innings washed off, no result. Series : 0-0 with 6 more to play.

With determination, comes options. And if you've done it before, you can do it again.

Michael Clarke may have the prettiest face in Cricket arena, but boy - is he quick on his feets? Ramesh Powar's game is to flight the ball over the batsman's eyeline & challenge them to come down the wicket to hit him. Interestingly, not many batters around the world had done it off Powar.. untill this Bangalore tie.

Brad Haddin's short arm jab over long off was coupled with 3 big ones from Michael Clarke. ... .. Read complete article

Missing the Spin trick against Aussies

It's simple science that the thing you haven't done before - will be tough to do for the first time. As human, we all need regular practice against new objecives & take our time to be a master of it.

Same is playing spin for Australian batsman. Neither their pitch back home, nor authorities or even the young blood want to spin the ball. In built agression make them a tear-away fast bowlers or hard hitting batsman. Waiting for flighted deliveries has always been tricky for Australia!!

Consecutively - their batters don't feel comfortable playing quality spin bowling.

Yet, when Australia's national cricket team comes to India, our selectors don't greet them with a ... .. Read complete article

Pace & age in Aussie one day squad to India

When it comes to mentioning Australian cricket team, it's any cricket writers dream to find chinks in their armour.. yet, year after year, since late 90s ~ the team from downunder don't look to be getting any weak & neither they would when Aussie squad land in India for 7 ODI series in October 2007. the schedule.

Most of them were in Champions trophy 2006. Nearly all of them represented Australia in their 3rd consecutive World Cup win in March 2007 & every single of them feature in first ever twenty20 world championship in South Africa..

5 days hence, 7 India vs Australia ODI series starts on 25th September with final ODI to be played ... .. Read complete article

Australia, (then) Pakistan in India 2007 : the schedule

No match-up in Cricket played on earth can be bigger than India verses Pakistan.. only India vs Australia encounters has some chances to touch the intercity, but for that to happen ~ you need to give some added advantage to Indian side. Being honest man that I'm, I'll admit our cricket team just can't wake up every day & beat the Aussies..

Ok, then how about an India-Australia one day International series IN INDIA.. does that sound fair enough? does to me, cause stadiums will be full of tricolour & cheer can inspire anyone, including Team India boys.

Thinking in exact manner, BCCI and ACB has planned a 7 ODI series between India & Australia, starting September 29 ... .. Read complete article
