Rahul Dravid has made it clear in simple words - "Bangladesh tour is NOT a world cup revenge series". Such clearification is expect from a honest minded man like Dravid with big/famous position. But a genuine Team India fan like me doesn't have to be that diplomatic. For the first time in their cricketing career, Bangladesh find themselves with a strong belief of (not upsetting but) beating neighboring India ~ even before the series has started. and honestly, I've my doubts too..
Series starts 10th of May, Mirpur is the name you should start thinking where first two onedayers will be played. Day matches they will be. meaning - bright sunshine of 38 degree centigrade heating up the pitch at Sher-e-Bangla National stadium. Looking for Nimbus communication channel Neosports? Following words should help you find it.. if you have the patience to read.
Channel was released with Challenger's trophy in October 2006. West Indies & Srilanka ODIs started 3 months later - yet no information on where this channel is. I sadly have to report that Neo Sports is again the channel to live telecast India's tour of Bangladesh in May 2007 - means another tussle with Doordarshan. The case between Prasar Bharti & Nimbus Communications has not yet come to a decision. New cricket series, so new sports channels for cricket fans. Hopefully you know most of them (if not get them on television) but I'll explain anyway for minorities. Here's which channel will broadcast India-Bangladesh test and ODI series in your country..
For India - its neosports. The same Nimbus channel that had long fight with India's premier channel Doordarshan. The debate is still not finalised, so expecting this series on DD1 will be little wrong. One day series possibly will be shown but test matches will cause havoc. May month of any year is not a time to play cricket in India, and countries around it. But when money pours in - professionals have to perform.
Bangladesh and India meet in a 2 test match series after a small ODI series of 3. India vs Bangladesh 1st & 2nd ODI at Mirpur (on 10th & 12th respectively), and 3rd ODI at Chittagong on 15th May. First test match will again be played at Chittagong from 18th with 2nd and last test match from 25th. Interestingly - the two teams will return to Mirpur for the last test match.
