2nd T20 : England's lowest = 88 = Windies win, defending 113.

What started looking like same Windies story we've been seeing for last couple of decades, ended up as a whole new choking drama from England as they were bowled out for their lowest T20 total in this 2nd T20 at The Oval, losing the match they should have cruised home in..

Invited in to bat first, Windies kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and run raten never got the required acceleration. Marlon Samuels batted on almost 15 overs to stay unbeaten on run a ball 35 as English bowlers displayed their art smartly.

With asking rate below run a ball, England openers had all the time in the world but instead, they tried ... .. Read complete article

1st T20 : England register all 10 wicket victory over Windies.

207 twenty20 internationals, today England registered only the 6th victory with all ten wickets standing, beating Windies in some manner..

Invited in to bat first, Windies were off to rocket start with Dwayne Smith and Charls collecting 51 runs from powerplay overs but as soon as they were separated, English spinners and Ravi Bopara pegged visitors down. So down that they couldn't even bat their quota of overs.

Ravi Bopara's 4 for 10 is now the best bowling figures by an English bowler in T20 cricket.

Chasing their target, debutant Alex Hales and Craig Kieswetter just didn't leave anything remaining as they reached the victory banks 28 balls remaining.

England hungry to improve their record in India, says captain Cook.

Last time England played an ODI series in India, back in 2008, they lost 0-5 before last two games were abandoned. Even during recent World cup 2011, England couldn't progress past quarterfinals, lost to teams like Ireland and Bangladesh, which is a strong hint that British team don't enjoy the sub-continent conditions specially in limited overs formats..

English bowlers don't get the kind of assistance from pitches in India and around that they get back home and then, their batsmen lack the power to clear in-field which is mandatory as totals in excess of run a ball aren't considered huge here.

Fact : England, overall, have played 50 one day internationals in India and lost 27 ... .. Read complete article

Return series not about revenge, insists Indian captain MS Dhoni.

India's tour of England 2011 was only the 9th tour from which Indians returned home winless. They lost as many as 4 tests + 1 T20 + 3 ODIs = 8 matches besides a tie and a no result which is now their worst result ever but captain MS Dhoni insists the 5 ODI and a T20 England play in India as return series won't be about revenge..

“You shouldn’t have a revenge-like feeling,” Says Dhoni. “Once you have that on your mind, you get desperate to perform and you start putting pressure on the whole side. So rather than looking at the opposition in that way, what is important is to stick to the basics.”

India's last chance to salvage some pride on forgettable tour.

Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent, and it seems like Indian cricketers have given up all hopes and are just waiting to board the plane home. Thrashed in test series, slipped out of Twenty20 and now one day series gone ~ the only question remains as we go into fifth and final Natwest one day at Cardiff on Friday is can visitors win a match? Indians on the verge of re-writing their worst overseas tour ever.

As we come close to the end of this 2011 India's tour of England on which visitors have won nothing so far, the implicit question is ~ is this their worst tour ever? Almost. This is the only fourth time Indians have been whitewashed in a series of 4 or more tests but none of previous 3 tours (1959 to England, 1962 to West Indies & 1968 to Australia) contained any one day internationals (ODIs came into existance in 1971)..

England won't feel any sympathy for India, assures Graeme Swann.

On paper, English stronger than Indians, unless pitch is flat.

Broad exited by youngsters at his disposal for Twenty20 clash.

Not just in cricket or sport but in life in general, we all aspire to lead the pack we live in, hoping to set new examples. Sadly, not all of us have the leader aka man manager in us, an ability a cricketer must have besides bat & ball skills to be able to captain his team..

Morgan man of the match on captaincy debut, Ireland disappoint.

On one hand, it seems like England are using whatever quality talent is coming out of Ireland (like cases of Ed Joyce, Eoin Morgan and now Boyd Rankin) but on other hand, one has to admit, English cricket is very much responsible for where Irish cricket stands currently, frequently sending their national team over as well as letting their players play in county circuit and gain experience..

Ajinkya Rahane in India squad purely on domestic performances.
