Fact :- England and Australia have played two tied ODIs before, but a 4 runs margin is as close as it can get, isn't it? not really. The closest finish in Eng v Aus oneday games has been by 2 runs, at Edgbaston. back on 6 June 1981. and also by 3 runs at Melbourne on 10 June 1991. and then you have another 4 run margin win at Manchester on 19 May, 1993.

Interestingly, all of those victories have gone Aussie way. England's smallest win difference against Australia in one day matches ... .. Read complete article

(Smallest) Lowest totals in England vs Australia one day match.

Rewrite cricket history books which says Greg Chappell was one of the best batsman Australia has ever produced. Along with 7110 runs in test cricket at a solid average of 53.86, Greg was also a bowler, a medium pacer who took 47 wickets in tests and 72 in one day internationals..

And, 5 of those 72 wickets came in just one match, against England at Birmingham, slipping home team to just 171. But more interestingly, Australians lost that game by a wooping margin of 101 runs, struggling all hands up against left arm swing bowling from John Lever. Lever's 4 wickets coupled with 2 for Bob Willis and one each for Chris Old and Tony Greig, shockingly dismissed ... .. Read complete article

Largest (Biggest) win margin in Australia vs England one day games.

In late 1990s, Australian cricket was at it's peak. Their strong batting line up used to demolish any bowling attack that came in their way but on 13 February 1999, English bowlers jelled well to keep Aussie total down to managable 272.

Sadly, England's batting messed up, were bowled out for just 110, giving Australia the biggest winning margin in one day internationals between the two country = 162. England were all out in just 31.5 overs, with Glenn McGrath, Adam Dale and Brendon Julian picking up 2 wickets each and leg spinner Shane Warne got 3 from his 5.5 overs.

Australia's biggest one day match win margin against England in England is 125 runs, which ... .. Read complete article

Best Bowling figure (most wicket in an innings) in England-Australia ODI.

Andy Bichel, a lion hearted bowler who was strongest physically in team in his playing days, always tried to bowl extremely fast but hardly could. Bichel got all the main English wickets that day = Nick Knight, Michael Vaughan, Nasser Hussain, Alec Stewart, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff and Ashley Giles.

List : Highest score by a batsman in England vs Australia one day match.

We discuss Alec Stewart ~ best run making wicketkeeper for England or yesteryear batsmen like Graham Gooch and Graeme Hick, but one name that we frequenly miss is Robin Smith..

Simth, a right handed batsman from Hampishire, played 62 tests and 71 ODI for England and in one of them, against Australia at Edgbaston, chunked out 167 off just 163 balls with 17 times past baundaries and thrice over it. That still is not only the highest score in Eng v Aus ODIs but by any England batsman ever in one day cricket against any country!

Note that it was a 55 over match, yet England scored only 277, despite Robin Smith's hurricane effort, which still ... .. Read complete article
