The West Indies captain Darren Sammy has blamed poor sessions for their 2-0 test series loss to England..
He was quoted by a cricket website saying, “We felt we competed in the Tests, but didn't compete for long enough. Some sessions we dominated, but in some sessions we were really bad.” Sammy isn’t wrong when he says that his team didn’t compete long enough. The Windies looked on top on some parts of sessions (even some sessions entirely), but just let the ball drop and let England wrest control with ease.
The Windies had been starting off well in their recent test match series against England but were some fumbles would push them right back to ... .. Read complete article |

England’s test captain Andrew Strauss has said that he is satisfied with England’s shape, even after a frustrating last test match against the West Indies. His team won that test series 2-0 and retained the Wisden Trophy, and the skipper has said that he remains confident ahead of the 3-test series against South Africa when the proteas come visiting in July.
The English captain spoke about the last test match and was quoted by a cricket website saying: “Obviously we played enough good cricket in those first two Test matches to win them reasonably comfortably. England have wrapped up the series with 2 consecutive wins in the 3 test matches against a weak West Indies eleven. Frankly, they don’t need to show their potential in this last match. They don’t need to get a white wash. It might even be a draw, for all that matters. But then again, some changes in the order and a few replacements could see this turn into a pretty exciting game..
After a 10 wicket win on the fourth day itself, England are on a high, and for the final test against the Windies at Edgbaston in the beautiful Birmingham, they will be looking for nothing less than a win, to claim the series 3-0.
