5th Test : West Indies win Wisden Trophy after 10 years!

There's official ICC Test Rankings aka Oscars of cricket, but there is not prize for best test match pitch of the year. and neither are Razzies aka the worst pitch negative award for venues which continuesly produce most boring test matches around the world.

West Indies (Caribbean) is one such country where cricket pitches have gone so slow that best of bowlers fail to dismiss batsmen. This England tour of West Indies was no different as a total of 5279 runs were scored against 113 wickets falling. Total of 17 centuries were made which gives an average of nearly 20 overs before a wicket fell.

Somehow, Jerome Taylor hurricane at Jamaica in first test match sweeped England allout for just 51 runs and gretty West Indians held onto their lead for next 4 games to win this dull Digicel Test Series 1-0. With this, West Indies grabbed Wisden trophy after 10 years, having last won in year 1998.

This was also the first Test Series win for West Indies against any major Cricketing nation since 2001 when the beat India at home.

Going into the 5th day of this 5th test match at Port of Spain ground in Trinidad, England pushed hard for a win, declaring their second innings wth just a lead of 244 runs and setting a target at just a runrate of 3.40 per over for home team. West Indies didn't fell in trap, defended their way out for 8 wickets down to secure a draw and hence won the Wisden trophy.
