Can't itsonlycricket.com publish a million list of records? sure we can, but that wouldn't be much browse-able. plus, you don't get the whole story with just numbers & lists.

We've answered over a thousand questions (since December 2005) at forum.itsonlycricket.com and even published articles on special records worth writing about.. If you too can't find a cricket record, spare 2 mins & post your question for us to answer.

Meanwhile, as I said some records are so special they deserve to be written and read all the time, following is a collection of such lists worth a glance.

ODI RECORDS

Fastest Century in one day cricket : is made by Shahid Afridi of Pakistan off just 37 balls. since then, his batting has only detoriated!

World's best Opening pairs : Story of Desmond Haynes + Gorden Greenidge for West Indies to Mathew Hayden + Adam Gilchrist for Australia and though to world most prolific oneday opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar + Sourav Ganguly for India!

Highest individual scores = 194, by Saeed Anwar of Pakistan against India and also by Charls Coventry of Zimbabwe, versus Bangladesh in 2009.

Best Bowling figure = 8 wickets for 19 runs by Chaminda Vaas of Srilanka against Zimbabwe.. 6 other bowlers have reached the mark of 7 wickets in an innings.

Partnership record in oneday cricket : belongs to Sachin Tendulkar + Rahul Dravid = 331 runs versus New Zealand. Sourav Ganguly + Rahul Dravid = 218 runs is the only other triple century partnership in this format of cricket.

Largest team totals : Sri Lanka = 443/9 vs Holland followed by 438 by South Africa chasing 434 by Australia in same match.. India's best is 418/5 vs Bermuda.

Lowest Team Total in ODI = 35 by Zimbabwe. 6 totals less than 50 has been made and India's 54 vs Srilanka is lowest by a major cricket team.

Most consecutive wins : invincibility! teams that didn't lose a single game for a long long time, beating one and all.

Youngest oneday centurions : Shahid Afridi again, 16 year & 217 day old he was. Pakistani's galore in this list of cricketers in tender age.

Debuts, the best ones : 148 by Desmond Haynes against mighty Australians! and Fidel Edwards' is the only bowler to take 6 wickets in his first one day international.

Biggest win margin = 290 run defeat for Ireland against New Zealand. over a dozen other matches have finished with over 200 run winning difference.

Smallest Wins = 1 run, done by nearly a dozen teams. list also includes last ball victories.

Most runs conceeded in an ODI spell : Martin Seddon once gave away 102 runs from his 12 overs whereras Muthiah Muralitharan leads the pack of one day international bowlers to give away most runs in a match of 10 overs per bowler.

Century List : Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs : Man with most three figure scores in all forms of cricket.. well, not quite!

Century List : Ricky Ponting in ODIs : The Tasmanian tiger is next best.. will he ever overhaul Tendulkar's number!

TEST MATCH RECORDS

Highest individual scores : 400 by Brain Lara of West Indies. Mathew Hayden's 380 is second best, followed by Brain Lara against, with 375 vs the same team England at the same venue Antigua.

Highest test totals : 952 for 6 dec by Sri Lanka against India.. England stand second with 903 for 6 dec vs Australia while only big total in 800s is 849 allout, also by England, back in year 1930.

Best test match bowling : Jim Laker = 19 wkts against Australia. Only Sydney Barnes has got 17 wickets in a test match while Bob Messie, Narendra Hirwani and Muthiah Muralitharan has got 16 wickets in a game.

Highest test partnerships : Kumar Sangakkara + Mahela Jayawardene = 624 runs. Jayasuriya + Roshan Mahanama's 576 is second best.

Youngest test centurions : Mohammad Ashraful of Bangladesh was only 17 years and 61 days old when he scored his first test century, breaking Mustaq Mohammad's record. Sachin Tendulkar made his first test century when he was 17 year and 107 days of age.

Youngest bowler to take 5 wkts : belongs to Nasim-ul-Ghani at age 16 years and 303 days. Mohammad Aamer is second youngest at 17 years and 257 days when he took 5 wkts vs Australia at Melbourne.

Highest totals chased in 4th innings : Australia dominated test cricket from 1990 to 2008 until South Africa beat them in their own backyard. Interestingly, West Indies effort of 418 chase in 4th innings at Antigua came in 2003 and even second biggest total made to win in fourth innings is against Australia in 2008 by South Africans.

Most Test Match wins in a row : Australia leads the pack with 16 Test Match wins without a loss or even a draw. It would be interesting to see if some other country can reach such level of invincibility, ever!

Best Debuts in Test Cricket : Michael Clarke stunned Chennai audiences with 154 attractive runs on his debut.. Andrew Strauss smashed 112 and 83 in his first Test Match, Mohammad Azharuddin scored 3 centuries back to back from his debut and Lance Klusner, Jason Krejza have taken 8 wickets on their debuts.

Most runs in debut test : is held by English batter Tip Foster for his 287 runs at Sydney.

Fastest test hundred : is made by Vivian Richards, off only 56 balls. Fastest double century is by Nathan Astle (153 balls) and fastest triple century belongs to Virendra Sehwag, 278 balls.

List of test match Hattricks : Hugh Trumble, Jimmy Mathews and Wasim Akram are the only two bowlers to take 2 hattricks in tests.. Fredrick Spofforth of Australia recorded first test hattrick, back in 1878.

Most century in test match : is held by Sachin Tendulkar, followed by Ricky Ponting. Mahela Jayawardene is the dark horse, we think.

Highest T20 score : is 117, by Chris Gayle, the only century in 20 over cricket format.

Highest Totals in twenty20 : is by Sri Lanka = 260/6 against Kenya. South Africa's 241/6 is second largest innings score.

Fastest fifties in T20 : is made by Yuvraj Singh, off only 12 balls, the same innings vs England he hit Stuart Broad for six 6s.

Best T20 match bowling : is by Mark Gillespie of New Zealand for his 4 wickets for 7 runs. No bowler has 5 wicket haul in Twenty20 Internationals.

Most sixes in a T20 match : was between India and New Zealand where 24 big ones were hit (13 by India, 11 by Kiwis).

Highest T20 partnership : belongs to Graeme Smith and Loots Bosman of South Africa for their 176 runs for the first wicket versus England at Centurion.

Lowest Total in T20 : is 67, by Kenya against Ireland. India holds the lowest by a major team, for their 74 against Australia at Melbourne in 2008.

Best debut in T20 match : belongs to Ricky Ponting for his 98 unbeaten runs. Ajantha Mendies holds bowling record with 4 wickets for 15 runs.

Most expensive T20 bowling : is by James Anderson of England, for his 64 from 4 overs against Pakistan in Johannesburg in that first T20 world cup 2007.
