Tensports is a sports channel owned by UAE businessman Abdur Rehman Bukhatir, who is behind the Sharjah cricket ground and also the newly built Dubai city stadium.. When Tensports started, some 4 years ago - it acquired major cricket broadcasting rights (featuring India) and forced cricket fans to include it in their cable TV package.. now when Tensports is available virtually everywhere - this sports channel has hardly any live cricket to show, specially those including Indian cricket team. Tensports is available in country = India, Pakistan, Middle East, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri lanka, Maldives, Europe, Hong Kong, Indonesia and also in Japan. Following is a list of cricket series that Tensports will be showing live in year 2009.. India in Pakistan : January - February 2009 A 3 test match, 5 ODI series which will also include one India vs Pakistan Twenty20 match which will be first shortest version of International cricket played in Pakistan. New Zealand tour of Pakistan : December 2009 New Zealand team flew back home 4 years ago following a bomb blast meters away from the team bus and they haven't returned to Pakistan for any series since then. Kiwis are again scheduled to tour pakistan for a 3 test match & 5 one day internationals this year. South Africa vs Srilanka : May 2009 Tensports holds the television rights for all cricket played in Srilanka under the srilankan board and Proteas tour to lankan island will be the start. India vs Srilanka vs South Africa Triseries This triseries was canceled in 2007 due to too much of rain and is scheduled to be played again in Srilanka, probably in the month of May or June 2009.. telecast rights of the cricket series belongs to Channel Tensports. Srilanka vs Pakistan : July-August 2009 Pakistan will be touring Srilanka in second half of the year 2009 and broadcasting rights belongs to channel Tensports. New Zealand tour of Srilanka : September 2009 Srilanka will be hosting many cricket matches this year and it will end with Kiwis tour in the month of September which will include 3 test match series followed by a 5 one day international series.. live on Tensports. England vs West Indies : February - March 2009 Tensports holds the telecast rights for all cricket played in West Indies under the windies cricket board and the live telecast will be starting with English team touring caribbean early in year 2009. Bangladesh tour of West Indies : April 2009 Bangaldesh, although didn't win too much, had a good tour of West Indies last time and they'll play 2 test match series and 3 ODI in caribbean this April 2009 which will be live on Tensports for spectators in Bangladesh and also in India and Pakistan. Note **If a team refuses to tour Pakistan, whose broadcasting rights belongs to Tensports - there is a provision of that series being played a UAE venue like Sharjah, Dubai or Abu Dhabhi and even then - the telecast rights will stay with Channel Tensports. **Australia canceled their Pakistan tour in 2008 and chances of them completing their tour in 2009 are ripe. Also, the Champions trophy which was canceled last year might also come back to Pakistan this year. **Tensports also holds the television rights for all cricket played in Zimbabwe.. although it's not sure how many country will indeed play in Zimbabwe given the present political situation. **Zeesports owns 60% stake in Channel Tensports and hence, Tensports shows the ICL (Indian cricket league) live with English commentary whereas Zeesports shows it in hindi commentary. In year 2009 - the partnership will continue and viewers in Bangladesh, Pakistan and India can enjoy ICL cricket via tensports.
