4th ODI : Rain drain, England entertain but India wins again.

Owasis-Shah-Good-Player.jpg 50 over game turned into 44 over game turned into 22 over game and all this, when India had batted only 17 overs after losing the toss.

Rain was inevitable from the beginning and both captains wanted to field first. Having lost the toss, another bad luck happened for India that they didn't get their batting power play cause match was reduced to only 22 overs each side.

When the match started for the 3rd time, India got only 5 overs to bat from which - they scored quickfire 83 runs. Since Duck-Worth Lewis system (D/L method) gives advantage to the team which has more wickets remaining - India's total of 166 was turned into a target of 198 from 22 overs for England since home team had batting resource of 6 wickets when the innings finished.

Under the sluggish outfield conditions & mid-night fast approaching - England made a sleepy start with first 6 overs of power plays fetching only 21 runs. Ravinder Bopara, Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen failed to give momentum which, finally arrived with Andrew Flintoff joining Owasis Shah who has been England's best batsman on this Indian tour.

2 overs of Batting power plays were still in hand as England, for the first time, looked like dominating Indian team in this Hero Honda 7 ODI series.. asking rate was over 12 but 10-12 runs were easily coming between this duo of Lancashire all-rounder and Middlesex batsman.

England 133 from 16 overs with 7 wickets & 2 overs of batting powerplay remaining.

Drinks break and, probably cause of message that came out of dressing room - England opted for their 2 overs batting PP & lost the momentum.. Zaheer Khan removed Owasis Shah and then Ishant Sharma got Andrew Flintoff. From then on, England just packed their bags & went home.

Few interesting notes
**Ishant Sharma, India's find of last 12 months, sported long hairs since he entered Indian team but he changed his hair duo in this match.. If you ask my opinion - Ishant looked good in his long hairs like Imran Khan but as long as this 6 feet 5 inches fast bowler can maintain his line-length - I'm sure no one will complain.
**England lost their first ODI at this M Chinnaswamy stadium.. they had won both their previous matches at Bengaluru.
**Sachin Tendulkar played a one day International for India after a gap of 8 months.. he last played ODI in Australia in February.
