8 wickets for 215 runs is 4th best bowling figure by an Australian.. the 8th best
by a debutant, internationally.. 4th best by an aussie. Also, 215 runs that Jason
Krejza gave away in his 43.5 overs, is also the 2nd most conceded by a Aussie
bowler in his first test match.Indeed - it's was a dream debut for this 'balding & tall' Australian off-spinner who came to India as first spinner in Australian test squad, gave away 123 runs for no wicket in warm-up match and hence lost his captain's faith. Resultant - Krejza carried his luggage for 41 days until this last test match to prove his worth. Starting Day 2 at 311 with 5 wickets in hand - India started well with Captain Dhoni and farewell man Sourav Ganguly carrying on their partnership to 119 runs. Dhoni missed cheeky shot down the leg side and was bowled. Sourav Ganguly followed soon by edging a good spinning one from Krejza and ended up caught at slip. Indian tail tried their bit but Krejza polished them all. 50 overs remained in the day when Mathew Hayden & Simon Katich started Aussie batting in aggression. 32 runs off 6 overs before Mathew Hayden miss judged a single to mid-off from where Murali Vijay, surprisingly, hit the stumps directly. Hayden's run out didn't slow Aussie run rate down with Captain Ricky Ponting maintaining momentum before he became 300th test victim of Harbhajan Singh.. the 10th time Bhajji got Ricky Ponting out. Simon Katich watched everything quietly and continued his flicks & ... Michael Hussey - the ever so careful left hander made sure australia don't lose any more wicket today which meant visitors propelled themselves towards a significat first innings total. Few notes to note **India, in 29th over - had 3 helmets behind the wicket and ball hit them after deflecting off Wicket Keeper MS Dhoni's pads.. 5 run penalty which is a rare occasion.
