It was a very big coin he couldn't control.. and thus - first flip at the toss went too far out of the pitch and hence Match Referee Chris Broad asked for another trail.

This time, Anil Kumble flips it nicely and wins the toss for India. and initiative too!

Electing to bat first - India lost Virendra Sehwag & Rahul Dravid within 1st hour and stabilized a little in next hour to go for lunch at 67 for 2 wickets from 26 overs.

BUT - real attraction of the day was Gautam Gambhir. 149 not out. Record : Gautam is now only the second Indian batsman to score a back-to-back century against Australia after Ajit Wadekar in 1951. only the 4th batsmen internationally to score successive century against Australia since 2001.

Australians tried art of irritation to its limit against Gambhir but couldn't break Gautam's concentration who came down the wicket to loft Shane Watson over long-on for a six to bring up his century!

Interesting Stat 1 : India's captain - Anil Kumble (132nd match) become the second most capped player of India, surpassing Kapil Dev who played 131 test Matches. Only Sachin Tendulkar with 152 test caps is ahead of Kumble.

Interesting Stat 2 : Sachin Tedulkar equaled Allan Rober Border of Australia to have scored 90 scores of 50 and above. Allan Border had 27 centuries and 63 half centuries.. Tendulkar, after today's 68 - now has 39 centuries & 51 fifties.
