Ind v Aus Delhi Match 2008
Greg Chappell was the 'surprise member' in Australian touring team when tour started. former Indian coach was assisting Aussie think-tank.Test Match 1 = draw & Test Match 2 = loss. 33 days later - Greg is gone & Bisen Singh Bedi is on! yes, former India captain & left arm spin bowler was specially invited to Australian net-session on Sunday and he backed Jason Krejza (the off-spinner) for the 3rd test match at Delhi. Knowing Bedi as spin bowler - one can easily interpret what he might have taught Jason Krejza - FLIGHT THE DAMN BALL! Former Australia Captain - Steve Waugh also visited Aussie net session couple of days later. After losing second test at Mohali, Michael Clarke went to Chennai to recharge his batteries (few others visited Taj Mahal in Agra) & are now back to sweat it out in nets. On other hand - Indian players will celebrate Diwali festival the night before they start third test match next morning.. hopefully - hangovers will be done away with. Australian record at Feroz Shah Kotla ground in Delhi (where first ever Border-Gawaskar Trophy Test match was played) is nothing special either - they won the very first time they played here - in 1959 and have lost twice since then with 2 draws. Ferozshah Kotla is much improved cricket ground these days with reconstruction works done recently. India's captain Anil Kumble has phenomenal record at Delhi cricket ground with 55 wickets in 6 tests.. question marks over his fitness are still on but if Bangalore spinner does play - India are most likely to drop Amit Mishra even though the pitch at Kotla ground is rumored to assist spinners. On other hand - Ricky Ponting is the only batsman in Aussie camp to have played a test match at Delhi before. Selling of Tickets for this India vs Australia 3rd test match at Delhi were delayed cause DDCA wanted Indian government to remove entertainment charge.. Rudi Koertzen (South Africa) and Asad Rauf (Pakistan) were the umpires for first two tests and now Billy Bowden (New Zealand) and Aleem Dar (Pakistan) will be the on-field umpires. Former England batsman - Chris Broad, who fined Zaheer Khan his 80% match fee, remains as the match referee. Note : India must win this test series to regain Border-Gawaskar trophy. If series results a draw - Australia will keep the trophy. Related ArticlesInd v Aus Delhi Match 2008
