Fact : All sports channels have to share live cricket match feeds with Doordarshan, of all one day internationals, T20s and test matches of national importance.

Fact : In India, few watch ball-by-ball test cricket, 5 consecutive days.

Result : There will be no live telecast of India vs South Africa, 2008 test series : from March 26, April 3 & 11th on Doordarshan - the national channel of India. Indian government does not feel its an event of national importance, and thus, Neosports don't need to share live cricket match with DD1.

Debate : is that really so? Do you watch test match cricket for all 5 days & are disappointed that DD will not show India vs South Africa test series? Alternatives : Those using Tata Sky DTH, already have Neosports channel with you & need not worry. Those with Dish TV, DD-1 is not an option for this Ind v RSA test series.. try local cable TV connection for a while cause most providers have included Neo sports in their package. Down in South India : Asianet has agreement with Nimbus to show matches in regional language. Hopefully, Doordarshan will atleast show an hour highlights package of all three test matches in the mornings at 7.30am India time.
