What are top two electronic goods Indian people buy? I read long time ago that it's a FAN, then a TELEVISION.
India loves cricket too. now everytime you buy a TV, or in case you relocate to a new house - you've to decide which direct to home (DTH) service provider to subscribe to, or go for local cable tv connection.
As I write this - only two DTH options you have - Dish TV & Tata Sky. options might increase in future as more & more companies merge Internet with cable tv with phone connections in one DTH service. but as of now - which service is best as far as watching cricket (getting specific sports channel) in India is concerned?
Factor A :
**Neosports show all the cricket played in India, by India & domestic. Neosports 2008 schedule.
**Star cricket, espn & Star sports combo shows all International cricket from Australia, England, and also the ICC tournaments like Champions trophy and World Cups.
**Tensports holds broadcasting right to show live cricket from South Africa, West Indies, Srilanka and Pakistan. Tensports 2008 schedule.
**Sony's Sab Tv holds telecast right for all cricket happening in New Zealand to show to Indian audiences.
Now, Doordarshan aka DD-1 is another option to watch all Indian team's oneday internationals, twenty20 (at home & abroad) & test matches that are played in India.
Factor B :
**Tata Sky DTH service has all the four channels an Indian viewer might need to watch live cricket channel. Dish Tv does not include Neosports in their package but as I mentioned above - Neo sports holds rights for cricket played in India - which are anyway shown by Doordarshan..
so, combining factor A & B - Cable TV connection is easy but not all sports channels are available all the time. Dish TV too have some flaws but Tata Sky Direct to home service seems the best for an Indian who is also a cricket fan. we might have to write an update soon when new DTH services are launched in India.
