Bowlers tournament in 1st half : 2nd half starts sunday

Commonwealth bank (CB) triseries in australia, so far, has not produced no high scoring games. Highest is 267 by India in Match 2, which was rained off.

Current situation of this triseries : Australia have won 2 games, India & Srilanka 1 each.. after 6 matches played in which 2 were washed off by rain.

6 more matches to go as league games before best of three finals starting 2nd March. India, Australia, Srilanka to play each other 2 more time.

Falling back to topic - why we haven't seen no high scoring games? oneday cricket is at its best when tall totals are build by teams batting first & then second team chases it down!

True, cricket fans love low scoring thrillers, but we'll love more if a batsman scores ODI double century, teams put up over 300 targets which teams batting second overhaul.

Little to blame the high-praised Aussie pitch curators, more to the untimely rain that spoiled first half of this tournament. that said, 22 yard strip at Melbourne for Match 5 and Perth for match 6 should have been better than what they were.

Now India vs Australia, Match 7, on Sunday, is at Adelaide. one of prettiest cricket ground Sachin-Tendulkar-160208.jpg you'll ever find, in a perfectly Oval shape - so the name Adelaide Oval. batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Mahendra Dhoni have found form from Indian side whereas Adam Gilchrist hit magnificent century in last match. Mathew Hayden, Michael Clarke and Michael Hussey have made some runs for Australia thus far - so expecting a high scoring Sunday at Adelaide wouldn't be too wrong.

Short square boundaries at Adelaide should encourage Sachin Tendulkar Pull shots which we admired so much - but have not been seeing of late. Mumbai Maestro's cover drives in this series has been a treat to watch. but do you remember when did Sachin scored a oneday international century? 31st January 2007, 33 match ago. in between, Sachin has scored 13 half centuries including 6 scores of nineties (99, 93, 99, 94, 99 & 97). 412 ODIs living legend has 41 centuries to his credit in shorter version of International cricket. looking forward to watching Sachin Tendulkar play full 50 overs of this India vs Australia ODI at Adelaide on 17th February 2008.

And then, I've a feeling Indian think tank would throw Piyush Chawla - the leg spinner on big stage sooner than later! Piyush was hit for several sixes over mid-wicket by Kevin Peitersen of England in his debut test match - and he came right back on England tour when Chawla clean bowled Pietersen 2 times in the ODI series. Piyush Chawla is a fighter! and a damn good spinner with some ability to bat left handed.

Piyush flights the ball and given that Adelaide oval ground is very long straight - Aussie batsmen would try to go across Chawla's line. which, as I just explained with Kevin Pietersen's example - isn't as easy.

But then, rumors say that Indian think tank would not cut short the batting resources and give Manoj Tiwary another go, who also bowls handy leg spin.
