CB Tri-series 2008
One way to select cricket squad is by packing all the arsenals available in your country. Other way is to form a team, adjusting only those players who are enthusiastic & hungry for success.Looking at Indian squad for the CB Tri series in Australia 2008 (match table) - I see youth. Looking at Srilankan squad - I see fast bowlers whereas Australian squad for the triseries is yet to be announced. Surprisingly, Indian selectors have opted for two spinners whereas Srilanka - who were known for their twickers - have dropped Malinga Bandara, opted for 5 seam bowlers and only spinner is Muthiah Muralithanran. Fielding is another key aspect of one day cricket, and this triseries squads shows all the three teams are as fit and athletic bunch of cricketers as it can get. The good thing Indian selectors have done, is that they've dropped their aging stars and allowed younger once a chance to play in Australian conditions. Now this should help them when India next tour to Australia in year 2011. In this tri-series, each team plays each other 4 times before a 'best of 3 final'.
Notes : -Indian selectors, with the above 15 member squad, also named three reserve player - batsman Manoj Tiwary, all rounder Yousuf Pathan and fast bowler Munaf Patel. Related ArticlesCB Tri-series 2008
