Squad of Australia : Lee is the man!

The Art of War says - "If your enemy is superior - evade him. If angry - irritate him. if equally matched - fight.. and if not - split! and re-evaluate".

Brett-Lee-30.jpg Not sure split & re-evaluation works in mordern cricket, neither Australians can evade (avoid) Indian team as the tour has already began. Art of irritation might come in handy for home team and fight is always expected in Aussie attitude.

Only thing we're absolutely sure of, is that Australian squad look lot less threatening than the Indian squad for the Border-Gawaskar Trophy 2008. The test series will be played in Australia itself, which will help their young pace battery combining with accurate Stuart Clark and experienced Brett Lee to take 20 high-priced Indian wickets!

Another question mark are the openers.. Phil Jacques has done well (back to back centuries) since Justin Langer retired but watching him open with Mathew Hayden in recent tests against Srilanka - I found Phil Jacques guilty of eating up the deliveries and not rotating the strike to Haydos (something Langer used to do superbly). Mathew Hayden himself is similar kind of player who takes time to settle, so his combination with new partner don't seem as convincing, as yet!

Batsman All Rounder Bowlers
Mathew Hayden Andrew Symonds Brett Lee
Phil Jacques Adam Gilchrist (wk,vc) Stuart Clark
Ricky Ponting Mitchell Johnson
Michael Clarke Shaun Tait
Michael Hussey Brad Hogg

Note
**Questions has been asked on the arm-action of Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait, but nothing official from ICC. So, Tait might play the Boxing day test match at Melbourne (the first test) starting 26th December 2007. It was Kiwis who didn't liked the complete bowling action of Shaun Tait, but Indian team has raised no questions.. as yet!
**Australians are the home team, so their selectors have the luxury of changing their squad for this "3 Mobile" 4 test match series.
**Brad Hogg, the 37 year old chinaman bowler who frequently plays ODIs for Australia, has now played a test match since 2003. his 4 previous test matches have fetched him 8 wickets at 50 runs apiece with best figures of 2 for 40.
