Out of the new names : the opener (Wasim Jaffer) has immaculate technique, their wicket keeper (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) is also the vice captain for his capabilities, two rookie fast bowlers (Rudra Pratap Singh & Ishant Sharma) can bowl over ninety miles per hour and the backup wicket keeper (Dinesh Karthik) has proved himself as an all round cricketer who can open the innings, run around the field & energize teams moral.

In short : following test squad to tour Australia in 2008 is easily the best collection of cricketers India has has produced for decades.

16 member team is lead by Anil Kumble, who might be just 3 test match old as a test captain but this 37 year old leg spinner has represented India in last 2 tours downunder. Kumble's bowling performance in Australia = 2/101 & 1/73(Adelaide 2000), 0/78 & 2/72 (Melbourne 2000), 0/126 (Sydney 2000), 5/154 & 1/58 (Adelaide 2003), 6/176 & 0/43 (Melbourne 2004) and 8/141 & 4/138 (Sydney 2004).

India have never beaten Australia in Australia, so onus now is on the following 16 men to go and get the glory for the cricket crazy nation on this Apart from 2008 tour!

**Where is S.Sree Santh, aka SSS???? well, the fast bowler is not initially selected to tour Australia, as he's nursing a shoulder injury but chances are he might join the team later towards the 3rd or 4th test match & following Triseries.
**Being home team, Australian squad will be announced little later, which can also be changed as per the need of Aussie team during the course of this 3 Mobile Border-Gawaskar Trophy test series.
