Day 2 : Pak start well after India delay declaration

Ganguly-Bangalore.jpg 27 years since Pakistan has lost a test series in India. by hook or by crook - past Pakistani teams have build this phenomenal record over arch-rivals but now, next three days of this Bangalore match will test the courage of present boys from Pakistan. Reminder : Series is 1-0 in favor of India, so Pakistan have to win this test match. Draw is not an option!

Knowingly, Indian captain deliberately delayed declaration, and were finally bowled out at 626 from 152.2 overs. Sourav Ganguly now holds the record for highest score by an Indian Left hander in test cricket (beating Vinod Kambli's 227), whereas Irfan Pathan scored his maiden century. Day 2 also saw Yasir Arafat become 9th Pakistani bowler to take 5 wickets on debut, but the prized question is - Can Pakistan win this test match from this position?

They're 86/1. 3 days to go..

Trick for Pakistan, I anticipate, is to score. and score quick! 90 overs should give them 450 runs at 5 per over. So they should be at least 486 by the end of day 3.. even if all out.

Earlier, in form Sourav guided struggling Dinesh Karthik but the wicketkeeper committed same mistake of playing half-hearted push outside offstump. In comes comeback kid Irfan Pathan who was given roaring welcome by Chinnaswamy crowd. and the baroda allrounder obliged - with 4 mighty sixes!

Day 2 notes from Bangalore
**This is 99th test match of Sourav Ganguly, and his first double century. So, Bengal Tiger now holds the record for most matches to score first 200, previously held by Carl Hooper of West Indies. 239 is also Sourav's highest first class score and best by any batsman at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore!
**We had Shoaib Akhtar back on the field, after his visit to Hospital yesterday but since he had missed more than 15 minutes of the playing time - he was not allowed to bowl for same amount of time he was out.. Shoaib should've bowled from 1.40local time (20 mins before Tea interval) but captain Younis Khan didn't bother the Rawalpindi express! To add more to Shoaib Akhtar's injury prone career - he has played 46 matches & missed 48 since his debut.
