Aussies expose you, & make you a better teamFiled under

We-watch-cricket, we play cricket but how many times do we think cricket? John Buchanan was a special brain that coached Australia to 2 world cup victories & made them the best test match team capable of winning anywhere in the world. how did they do that? lets think some cricket today.. Every cricketer in every opposition Aussies play against, they scrutinize their minus points to a level that batsman (or bowlers) start doing things differently than they otherwise do. That creates an opportunity for Aussie players to gain an advantage & they don't let you comeback. Ever! But guess what? there's a silver lining to who whoever plays against this great Australian team. Once the series is over, all Aussie oppositions come out as better team with more range of plans & defense & counter attacks. take 3 examples.. England a country never known to have a good one day International team. But 5-0 whitewash in Ashes test series 2006 downunder & then the following Commonwealth Bank tri-series in 2007 (which England won, surprisingly) installed some sort of ODI skills into English boys & 8 months hence - same Paul Collingwood men went on to win an ODI series in Srilanka - a tough place to win anything! India had won the first T20 world cup, yet they were exposed completely by Australia in the following 7 ODI series. Aussies won 4-2, and looked more at home than the actual host team. But, one month later - India under Mahendra Singh Dhoni looks much better ODI team than they were 5 months ago in world cup 2007. New Zealand is known as a technical team, trying to 'out smart' their opposition with exclusive plans against one & all. But how did Kiwi cricket become to computer savvy than swing bowling they used to rely on? Its lot to do with them playing Australia in Australia nearly every year & learn some hard lessons. For those who don't know - New Zealand play the least amount of cricket Internationally but reached the semi-finals of both cricket world Cup 2007 and first twenty20 world cup in South Africa. West Indies & Pakistan play test series against Australia in 2008, so lets wait & watch how better teams they become once those series are over. 2008 schedule. Related ArticlesExclusives
