Before I tell you the schedule of Ranji trophy this year, and about the live telecast of those matches on channel Neo Sports (and Australian domestic cricket on star cricket) - its important to note that there are two types of Ranji Trophy matches played in India under first class national level cricket. 1 - Super league & 2 - Plate League.

Plate League is made up of two groups of 6 states in India, whereas Super League contains 8 teams. Plate League is played among lesser known Ranji teams like Jharkhand, Assam, Kerala, Services, Tripura, Gujarat & so forth. the top two teams in Plate division qualifies for the Super League next year, whereas the bottom two teams of Ranji Trophy super league fall into Plate division the following year.

The Ranji trophy we are talking about here, is Super league devision. A four day game tournament. The groups for the 2007 - 2008 season is as following :

Group A = Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra, Mumbai, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan.
Group B = Punjab, Andhra, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Hyderabad, Baroda, Bengal

Having won the BCCI deal till the end of 2010, Nimbus communication has the exclusive broadcasting rights and they do a very good coverage of National matches in India (as per I've seen so far). Note that India play Pakistan in November but after that - South Africa come here in our country by March 2008. Till then, enjoy some national level cricket through the channel Neosports.
