Today, we'll look into the two 15 member squads selected by India and Pakistan to play in the 13th cricket series between the arch-rival teams. Pakistan have recalled speedster Shoaib Akhtar for this November 2007 series.. so India have brought back 309 man Virendra Sehwag. who are the youngsters to watch out for & how does the spin department stand for the two sub-continent cricket giants? lets find out..

Mahendra Singh Dhoni
As long as you play on asian wicket - Dhoni can smash you. So get ready for lusty baseball batting from this Indian wicket-keeper cum one day captain. His official site.

Shoaib Mallik
Master of playing Spin bowling, learning the art of captaining the national cricket team at the highest (International) level. Expect Shoaib to bat with Inzamam-ul-haq like responsibility & soft speeches!

Shoaib Akhtar
We might not hear too much from him, as world's fastest bowler looks determined to let his balls (deliveries I mean) do the talking! Beating Aussiesis his goal.

Shahid Afridi
Boom Boom Afridi they call him back home. Recently, he has decided to open batting for Pakistan team in onedayers. So.. look out for some mis hits and some mighty six!

Sachin Tendulkar
One (& only) thing this Mumabi Man loved - is cricket. I Can't imagine an Indian team without him, and Sachin himself looks hungry for 100 mone ODIs with 50 more tests. Bring on the stretchers!!

Sourav Ganguly
Third most century maker in ODIs. Expect some boosting article from Sourav (in your local newpapers) when this series will be at its peak.

Rahul Dravid
Selectors dropped this number 3 batsman from the initial odi series, probably to allow him time for reinventing 'The Wall' India used to have.. specially cause Australian tour is coming up. Expect Dravid for Pakistan test series as well.

Yuvraj Singh
Get ready for some extravaganza of six hitting from this Indian middle order bat. Yuvi's confidence is high & he has had his rest!

Virendra Shwag
Someone who always bats in 5th gear. Pakistan has raw pace & thus India have recalled him to hit sixes over the third man baundary. Care-free man is Virendra Sehwag.

Misbah-ul-Haq
Same man who played the scop over fine leg off the last ball (bowler Joginder Sharma) of T20 world cup that India won. His job in Pakistan ODI squad is to stick to wicket and play until the end, without too many risks.

Sohail Tanvir
Find of Twenty20 world cup, saved for this India vs Pakistan series. A left handed pace bowler with rare (no jump) bowling action. Pakistan always throw one new fast bowler whenever they play arch-rival India, and Sohail Tanvir is their trick this November series.

Salman Butt
Cute looking boy scored a masterful century at Eden Gardens some years ago.. without eating at all!! no surprises Pakistan selectors have picked him once again for the magic. And guess what - he's the only left-handed recognized batsman in this PAkistan squad for tour of India.

Imran Nazir
1 of only two Pakistanis I mentioned in list of batsman capable of scoring 200 in ODIs. Nazir is a pro like Virendra Sehwag of India - in lofting good length balls over long-on, even to medium pacers.

Umar Gul
Ability is to extract extra bounce from the pitch. His class is to keep ball's seam very straight & his fitness is the reason Indian team should watch out for him.. his name is, as I said, is Umar Gul.

Mohammad Asif
Pakistan's trick for this Indian series is pace. This 6 feet 4 inches clever bowlers is integral part of that trick, but since Mohammad Asif is coming back from injury : he's yet to hit line & length he's known for.

Gautam Gambhir
Someone oozing with confidence. Looking for quick singles, coming down the track to pace bowlers : Gambhir boy is in the best batting form of his life and being an opener - expect big scores from him.

Yasir Hameed
Right handed, good in defence opener has made loads of runs in domestic season to earn yet another comeback to Pakistan batting (which never had a stable opener since Saeed Anwar).

Younus Khan
is also known as Younis Khan, and this number 3 batsman don't want the captainship. He's happy scoring most of runs Pakistan make in International level. Crucial man of this India-Pak series.

Mohammad Yousuf
Indian cricket league (ICL) had signed him, but Yousuf changed his mind to rejoin Pakistan cricket team. His batting form these days? 60% of how much Yousuf was scoring last year, when he was highest run maker in one calaneder year.

Kamran Akmal
has played 72 ODIs & 35 tests for Pakistan (would you believe it). The Pakistani wicketkeeper has never looked permanent in Pak cricket team but he continues to play matches for national team.

Abdur Rehman
is a different Abdur Rehman that Bangladesh has. Both are left-arm spinners but this Rehman bowls much slower & spins the ball whenever he wants. Add some batting talent & good fielding skills - This Abdur Rehman is the only spinner in Pakistan team for India series 2007.

Rao Ifthikhar Anjum
Pakistan play 3 day-night one day Internationals in the series, and Rao Ifthikhar Anjum is a slinging action seam bowler they have to swing the ball around under the lights. If no swing - Anjum is a peice of cake. If swing - Anjum is next to unplayable!

Fawad Alam
Little bit of slow left-arm spin, little bit of promising batting & little age of 22 - Fawad Alam might find a few girl friends on this Indian tour. Heavily talked about middle order batsman in Pakistan cricket forums.

Robin Uthappa
One century in Challenger's trophy 2005 changed his life. Hard hitting batsman likes coming down the pitch to fast bowlers, and is probably the best fielder in Indian team in the arch-rival clash.

Irfan Pathan
has changed his bowling style from wicket-taker to a slog over bowler. More acurate, more tricky he's for the batsman these days but his own batting isn't seem to be working recently!

Harbhajan Singh
Offspinners are probably the best bowlers Indian and Pakistan batsman like playing. Harbhajan Singh has done remarkably well in the T20 world cup and in india vs Australia. How will he bowl in Test series - that will be interesting!

Murali Karthik
was surprize selection during India vs Australia ODI series, and this left arm (very slow) bowler still isn't fixed for playing 11 either. But on spin helpful conditions - Murali has ability to pick wickets after wickets!

Zaheer Khan
Fitness is down, speed has reduced but bowling accurary has improved. Zaheer Khan enjoys fast bowling conditions, which might not get in this series.

Rudra Pratap Singh
His arms are compact & he's repeating his bowling action again & again. Thus speed of 90 miles per hour is coming, thanks to bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad. Surprize bouncers bowls Rudra pratap - the left arm pacer.

Rohit Sharma
is next batting star from Mumbai, & he can field better than any cricketer. Middle order batsman may just carry the drinks in this India pakistan series, but his chances will come later.

S Sree santh
is a showman. but he too is bowling fairly quickly these days, again Thanks to coach Venkatesh Prasad. TV presenter Shonali Nagrani seems the girl for Sree, but its time for cricket!

Praveen Kumar
This Uttar Pradesh all rounder is a new face in Indian squad. If you rememeber Manoj Prabhakar who used to bowl first over & open the batting - here's more on Praveen Kumar. More on him here, but in short - Praveen is another so-so multitalented cricket we also know as Cricket all-rounder, which India has had very few over the years.
