5 unknowns Indian fans should watch out for

Challengers trophy's original idea was to allow young Indian domestic cricketers to match shoulders with current national boys. a 4 50 over game tournament, all played under lights was probably the best platform for juniors to make impression on the seniors.. not to mention the selectors.

Sadly, 2007 Challengers trophy don't have no major star featuring. Consecutively, I decided to pick 5 cricketers from the tournament and allow readers a sneek-peek at what is the future of Indian cricket. Only the die-hard Indian cricketer's are supposed to read the following, whereas average cricket fans can wait for the following 5 to get selected for Team India and then know how skillful they are..

PraveenKumarComing.jpg Praveen Kumar
is another Manoj Prabhakar in the making, who faces the first ball for his Ranji side - UP, and also bowls the first over. Reason, for both, is obvious. Praveen Kumar has a slingy action, and is capable of swinging the ball both into the batsman and bowl out outswingers. His line-length is very good and loads of domestic experience is only making him even better one-day cricketer.

Then, you have his Sehwag like batting at the top of order. You bowl little lose off the very first ball, and Praveen Kumar will hit you for a four.. if not six. A carefree batsman his captains loves sending right at the top of the batting order!

I personally believe this man should be playing for India in 50 over & 20 over games.

Yo Mahesh
is small, shy and south Indian (from Tamil Nadu). what makes him good enough to play in Challengers trophy so early in his domestic career? well, a great fast bowling action to start with. Yo Mahesh is capable of generating a speed of around 135kmph but mind you - he's just 20 years as of now. Vijaykumar Yo Mahesh is also a useful batsman lower down the order and excellent fielder but it's the potential of future fast bowling that selectors are giving him an oppotunity.

Manoj Tiwary
is the best back-up batting option we have in India. He was selected in national team right after the world cup 2007, but damaged his shoulder to fail to make his debut. Read this for more on Manoj Tiwary.

Subramaniam Badrinath
is a hard fought cricketer, rising slowly but steadly in domestic cricket. At an age of over 27 years, this Tamil Nadu batsman doesn't have time on his side, but determination is as big as it can get. Try this article for more on Bardrinath - a technically correct batsman who bowls really slow off spinners to beat the batsman in flight.

Amit Mishra
is a leg spinner. And a confident batsman, who is little fat to impress the cricketing eyes. Exactly like Shane Warne, this Haryana leggy is master of turning the ball a mile and then disguise the googlies at the right time. They say Amit Mishra is at his best when the pitch is dry and tension is on.

This 25 years old was given a call-up right after the world cup 2007 but failed to make his debut. and since then, he's not in the Indian selectors radar before we watch him perform in Challengers trophy 2007 at Ahmedabad.
