25th, 26th, 27th and the finals on 28th. India Red vs Blue, Red vs Green then Blue vs Green deciding the finalists of the 4 day tournament, respectively. The ground will be Apart from Sardar Patel stadium in Ahmedabad and all the matches will be played as Day night (1430hrs IST) one day games. not one day Internationals mind you!

The Three Squads : without Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Dhoni, Yuvraj & Irfan Pathan.

Annual, Day-night limited overs cricket tournament organised between three teams with best 50 over cricketing skills in India. A chance for budding stars to brush shoulder with those who already rule the cricketing sky.

Why it was named NKP Salve Challengers trophy
Well, they say NKP Salve - former president of BCCI, was instrumental in hosting the cricket world cup for the first time in sub-continent - in 1987.

Little history of Challenger cup
Started in 1994-95 season, only 2003 was when this tournament was not played (because of heavey schedule of Indian national team). First it was called as Kedia Cup, then Liberty Cup, simply Challengers trophy next two years before NKP Salve until now.

392 by India Seniors over India B at Chennai (2001 season) remains the highest total made, whereas 110 is the lowest score - by India B in first edition of Challenger cup. Highest individual score is 142 by Sourav Ganguly whereas best bowling figures belonw to Venkatpathi Raju (present selector) who took 6 for 39 at Hyderabad once.India seniors have won the tournament 7 times.
