Neosports and Indian cricket in year 2007

NeosportsPicture.jpg Challenger's trophy 2006 to Challengers trophy 2007 - Neosports has come full circle to complete one year of producing & broadcasting cricket matches played in India, under BCCI.

The purpose of this article is to inform you that channel Neosports will be showing all the matches in Pakistan tour of India (the last series to be played in India this year) & also the NKP Salve Challenger cricket series between India Red, India Blue and India green to be played at Motera stadium in Ahmedabad, on 25, 26, 27 & 28 October 2007. The India-Pakistan series can also be watched on DD national, but the challengers trophy will be exclusive to Neo Sports.

Neosports is already available with direct to home (DTH) service of Tata Sky whereas Dish Tv doesn't include it in their package yet. Very few cable opertors in India show Channel Neosports but negotiations with major cable agencies like Hathway, Asianet is on.

Looking back to the days when Nimbus first won the rights for showing Indian cricket (national matches & tours hosted by BCCI) to the day when they first showed live cricket - the 2006 challengers trophy - till today, when they've launched their website and offer live cricket and highlights packages through Internet... one has to say that Neosports looks like increasing their coverage area & deal with Doordarshan seems to have settled down with Indian government making it compulsory for all private channels to share important live matches with national (free to air) channel.

Telecast of India vs Pakistan series will be the last for Neosports for the year. Doordarshan will share the live feeds as the arch-rivals battle it out on the field.

India vs Pakistan is to be shown live on ARY Digital in UK, Neosports (through Star Hub) in Malaysia, Singapore & New Zealand. Also in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong & Taiwan. Skysports 3 in England will be broadcasting all the test match days & the one day internationals with fox sports in Australia. Fans in Middle East cities (UAE, Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi) have to find a way to DD1 or neosports for the live matches.
