Aussies looked home team at Kochi, Indians tired

ClarkAtKochi.jpg 2nd ODI : India vs Australia, Kochi. Australia won by 84 runs, lead the Future Cup 7 ODI series 1-0 with 5 to go.

With the arrival of twenty20 format, 50 over matches (one day internationals) appear to be the shortest version test matches. Not for in-out cricket crazy like me, but 6 known people to me have complained ODIs seeming longer since African tournaments final.

Its also very possible that batting teams fail to play their full quota of 50 overs, and thus score less than required to win a game.

In similar state looks Indian team since they've come back from world cup. Seniors (read Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Zaheer Khan) have come in place of youngsters (read Rohit Sharma, Robin Uthappa & Joginder Sharma) who performed not well but exactly when the team needed them most.

One might argue "what was so significant about India's loss to Aussies at Kochi in 2nd ODI?". To them, I would like to recall the trick of winning innitiative. Indian team were chasing the Bangalore game, and again today from the begining whereas Aussies look like invincible on un-home conditions. Before today, India had won international matches over South Africa, Australia & Pakistan back to back. Today - they lost a simple odi, which might easily bring back the memories of Indian cricket team we had a month ago - famous but not good enough!

How much would I love to see MS Dhoni & his boys surprise us with a win at Hyderabad is unexpainable, but I just hope we don't lose again in such spineless manner as we did today.

This aussie team is very beatable, and time is ripe to dislodge them from top position in International arena. May be our selectors need to act & draft Amit Mishra (the hard hitting leg spinner) immidiately. May be our captain needs to get strict with underperforming batters who can hit the ball to six off a free hit - & then toss a careless catch 2 balls later.

Or may be, we fans need have faith & give our loved cricket team just one more chance.
