MClarkeLovesBangalore.jpg1st Ind v Aus Future Cup ODI, Bangalore. Result : 2nd innings washed off, no result. Series : 0-0 with 6 more to play.

With determination, comes options. And if you've done it before, you can do it again.

Michael Clarke may have the prettiest face in Cricket arena, but boy - is he quick on his feets? Ramesh Powar's game is to flight the ball over the batsman's eyeline & challenge them to come down the wicket to hit him. Interestingly, not many batters around the world had done it off Powar.. untill this Bangalore tie.

Brad Haddin's short arm jab over long off was coupled with 3 big ones from Michael Clarke. All the three sixes were hit off full tosses, made by batsman by taking a step forward from the crease. Ramesh Powar's flights looked like lollypops thrown in air, thankfully recieved by Clarke in association with Haddin.

But importantly - Clarke stayed till the very end. He started from 3.2 overs (Aussies were 4/90 at 16.3 over mark), & was runout off the very last ball of Australian innings. Now that's what you call a responsible batsmanship! Leaving nothing for the next batsman.

Australia zooming onto 307 off their 50 overs.

Sadly, there was very little Indian chase that I should tell you about. No play was possible after 2.4 overs, within which India managed to lose Sachin Tendulkar's wicket. Off a very good inswinging ball from left armer Mitchell Johnson, who looks a very bright prospect.

Some scorelines
Aus won the toss and elected batting.
Gilchrist 12, Hayden 34, Hodge 0,
Symonds 7, Clarke 130 (132b,10x4,3x6),
Haddin 69(83), Hopes 37(31), Extras 18.
Sreesanth 3 for 55, Zaheer 2 for 64.
Australia : 307 for 7 wickets.
India : 9 for 1 from 2.4 overs.

Near 2130hrs local time, around an hour before the cut off time for this ODI, both captains were called in by the umpires Steve Bucknor & SL Shastri for a brief meeting. Aussies wanted to play, they wanted to get one overs Indians on any soggy slippery outfield, whereas Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni looked in no rush. He replied to Aussie's padding up & warming up by coming out eating something & mouth full. He obvisouly was into his dinner & thinking about 2nd ODI at Kochi already.

Greg Blewett (the Aus commentator talking to umpires as they called the match RainHasLastLaugh.jpg off), questionably asked 'what was the cut off time for the ODI?'

Ten Fifteen, replied Umpires Shastri. Little shyly I must add.. enjoy the notes.

Notes from Bangalore
-Michael Clarke made his debut at this very Chinnasawmy ground. That was a test match then, & Clarke had made 151 smashing runs.
-Yuvraj Singh was one wicket away from 50 one day international scalps. Was that the reason our captain brought him on, when it was time to kill the opposition? Whatever the reason,Yuvraj now has completed 50 wickets by getting Brad Hadding stumped in this one.
-The ball was changed after the 35th over, as per the new ODI rules, starting this match. No bowler bowled no ball to enforce 'free hit' though! Only two no balls in this match were bowled by Sree santh & Zaheer Khan - both full tosses over the waist height. Free hit employs to front foot no balls.
