Young cricketers (Yuvraj) must feel young n hungryFiled under
Indian cricket
Aussie n English selectors fear throwing a teenage rookie into International arena. Specially if he's a batsman. They tend to select maturity over mastery and hope the youngster will first learn at home cricket, before get tough n face the world..Don't believe me, have a look at youngest cricketers to play ODI cricket. Not the case with India or Pakistan cricket though. Sachin Tendulkar made debut at age of 16 years 238 days, whereas Pakistans Hasan Raza was merely 14 years n 233 days old the day he was thrown into International cricket by Pakistani selectors. Aaqib Javed n Shahid Afridi also feature in top of that list, whereas first New Zealander name (47th in list) is Daniel Vettori n no name from Australia or England!! Yuvraj Singh was 18 years n 296 days old when he first played, comes at 74th position.. Today he's 7 years top cricket experienced, and have taken India to win plenty of times.. Yuvraj was even very close to getting India captainship, but does that mean he should act like 30 year old? I dare to say no.. for a man of less than 26 years years since birth - dreams n making them real should be the only drive.. The talent Yuvraj posses, it's not just his gift but duty to realize the biggest of dreams. Few people in world can swing a cricket bat like Yuvraj Singh does. given a consistent performance from Belfast onwards (where I saw him frustrated), Yuvraj must go on to become another Tendulkar, effecting many more wins for India than little master achieved.
