No live telecast on Doordarshan..

Doordarshan is not going to show us the test matches in pakistan, starting in round about 18 hours from right now, as I write this. They lost the case in Supreme court and who ever now wants to catch cricket, has to have Tensports at home. Although cable operators are nothing new to our country, having Tensports is not all that easy as it sounds...

When last time our team played in Pakistan, the telecast rights were with Tensports again. But when Doordarshan showed us all the matches(even the test matches), no cable operator went to Taj TV and brought Tensports as it wasn't required. Moreover, since that time, no significant match came live on that channel. Result - Very few cable operators show Tensports in our country, India. And as the decision of Doordarshan loosing its case in supreme court came only on Tuesday, not many cable operators will have rushed to buy the decoders for Tensports.

We consumers make everything work, and still we are the ones who always suffer... the reason for it that we aren't united. And unaware. I am sure when the matches start tomorrow, people will make their cable operators life tough, but that will still cost them at least the first test, as all these things take some time. And the que at Tensport's office will be long.

But wait a minute, if you have Dish Tv, then will the problem be solved?? I am sorry to state this but the answer is no. You have ZeeSports, Espn-star and DD Sports coming through Dish Tv but no Tensports.. the only way you can see Test Matches against our Arch Rivals is through Cable operators who provide Tensports. Another bad news is that even All India Radio (AIR) can't give you the running commentory. So round about 400 million radio listeners will be among the 259 million Doordarshan watchers with no cricket to watch. The one and only way to enjoy the coming matches is through Tensports. Thats it!!

Now either you are lucky and have Tensports or you are going to have frustrating time. Act right now if you want cricket... India Vs Pakistan don't come every day!!
