Ashes 2006 = $317 for Australia : Border-Gawaskar trophy next

Not that I hate other aspects of Australian cricket, best I like is the way they plan things. & then goes all out to get it..

Ashes 2006 was very much a revenge series. Plan was not to beat England, but beat'em bad. & so they did. In process, Australia earned good some of money as a tourist AustraliaBetterInAshes2006.jpgdestination for English people as well. even though they lost that 5 test match series 5 nil.

Releasing the facts, Aussie Tourism Minister said 793 new jobs were created during those 30 days, to make a total of $317 while the Ashes & commonwealth Bank triseries was played. read the official story straight from official website of CA.

What I'm interested in, is the last few words Tourism Minister said - "Cricket provides one of Australia's strongest links with India, and through our new tourism office in Mumbai and our partnership with Cricket Australia, we intend to bowl in a tourism bonanza this coming summer,". for those who don't know, team India go on a 4 test series tour to Australia right at the beginning of new year 2008, with first Border Gawaskar test match starting 26th of December ~ better known as the boxing test match. spare a minute to schedules.

Just to elongate a little further, I would like to assure Team India fans to plan a trip this year end to downunder, because that place truly is good to watch cricket. I'm watching cricket on television for 14 years now, & every cricket match played in Australia appeared lot smoother to the eyes. If you are capable of making a trip my dear reader - Australia this winter (in India) is the foreign destination for us.. only requirement will be a moderately well performing 15 cricketers in our squad.
