ECB recruit reverse sweep legend - Andy Flower as assistant coach

Get your line right bowlers, because Andy Flower is deputy of Peter Moores. and he'll teach every English batsman how to reverse sweep a cricket ball, along the carpet & to the the baundary..

First the news, which says Andy will be replacing Mathew Maynard - the assistant coach of outgoing Duncan Fletcher. He has worked before with Peter Moores, who hopes it'll be great help having Andy AndyEnglandDeputyCoach.jpgflower in the bunch.

For a brief flashback, lemme remind that Andy Flower played test & ODI cricket for Zimbabwe. As a wicket keeper who was easily the best batsman in the side. He retired after 20 years of first class cricket, making 4794 test match runs from 63 International games and effecting 160 dismissals behind the wicket. In shorter version, Andy made 6786 from 213 ODIs at special keeper's average of 35.54.. no wonder people compare him second best to best every keeper/batsman to play cricket Internationally, after Adam Gilchrist. But to be honest, This flower was different. He played responsible innings unlike Gilchrist's eye-wood contact. This lefty batsman Flower says he and his team mates in Zimbabwe teams "worked their hides out, sweating blood & tears" when they were given test match status. As of now, Australian team is scheduled to tour african nation for a cricket tour of one day Internationals.. very recently, Zimbabwe have not been allowed to play test match cricket, although they participated in Caribbean world cup a twenty days ago.

Back to Andy flower, I've a feeling that England cricket board is looking at this flower twin as possible next coach for national team once Peter Moores retires.. or even fails. That said - even Andy Flower has to prove his worth as an International motivator. He played the game hard, was there at the wicket quite a few times when batsman Zimbabwe batsman struggled at the other end. He sure knows how to stay positive, concentrate and if possible.. DOMINATE.

England cricketers must learn from Andy as much as they can.
