Team India in Pakistan - So far..

I am quite sure that tour matches are played only to give the visiting team a chance to acclimatize, otherwise what is the point of playing a three day matches, when such elite players are on display. And if this is the only reason, our team will be breathing quite nicely as they batted strongly and bowled OK!!

One thing I noticed in these matches that not more than 70-75 overs were bowled in a day, something that we can expect for whole of the test series, although runs were scored quite freely by both the sides. In the end, Team India finished at 72 for no loss in 13 overs in their second innings, after Pakistan A declared at 358 for 9. The match was, obviously draw. The ScoreCard -

And here's the 14 players Pakistan has selected for the first test, starting on Friday. They have recalled Imran Farhat who made a century in the above match, but they have preferred young rookie seam bowler Mohammad Asif over Umar Gul.

Umpire Rudi Koertzen will officiate in the first two tests while Simon Taufel in the last two. All the buzz that Pakistani board created to ask for someone else than Darell Hair is somewhat accepted, as he will be only in first test, with Daryl Harper joining Taufel for the last test!!

Greg Chappell has praised the Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer for turning his team around and making it a good bunch of cricketers, and says - "they have some good bowlers, but we also have the batting to play them well".

And today, twenty20 cricket has taken another step ahead when Australia played South Africa at Brisbane. And the result... the obvious, Australia winning by 95 runs. Damien Martyn made 96 off 56 balls with 5 sixes while Andrew Symonds made 54 off 24 balls. The ScoreCard -
