India Vs Pakistan - The History.

IndoPakononeface2.jpgDo you know that the first ever test match between India and Pakistan was played at Delhi - 16 to 19th of October, in 1952. And if you didn't notice, it was a four day test, although India required just three days to crush Pakistan by an innings and 70 runs.

India won that 5-match series 2-1 and then, the following 10 tests were draws.. how boring cricket they used to play in those days!!

The first ever series win for Pakistan against us came after 26 years, in 1978-79 series. They won that 3 test series 2-0. And since then, they have won 3 test series against us, so far, equal to us, in a total of 13 series so far. Which means 7 has been undecided. But here I have to admit that they have won 11 test matches against us, while our team has managed on 8 wins, out of 53 tests between the arch-rivals. These wins include a "Asia cup test championship" match, that again, Pakistan won!! indopak.jpg

Although these statistics are past, something that not many are interested in, still if you want more, I suggest you - THIS.

Before I let you go, let me finish this article by mentioning few unforgettable incidences that happened between them and us, and made the cricket even more worth remembering -

One was Aamir Sohail.. after hitting Venky for a four at square boundary, wanted more, and expressed his desire verbally to the bowler... who bowled him next ball!! This was a World-Cup quarterfinal match between the two teams, and we can proudly say that we haven't lost a single match to our arch-rivals in the biggest tournament in cricket.. and then was Navjot singh sidhu, who got mad with continues taunts from the same Pakistani - Aamir Sohail and asked him what he was trying to do... holding his bat in some wrong way..we won that match as well!!

Prasad1996.jpgOKK.. so you clearly remember all of these moments.. No problem, try this one - SAHARA CUP, Toronto. Injamam who seems the quietest man in the cricket arena these days, asked his substitute to bring a bat(or may be a wicket) to the edge of the boundary where he was fielding, and climbed up the stands to have a fight with spectators....... Thank God, I wasn't one of them but I wonder what did those spectators said to Inzy?? Any guesses?

If I go on recalling moments, I am sure a million lines will be not enough.. or even a billion, but that innings by Saeed Anwar or 194(still the highest score in ODI by a batsman) and Kumble's perfect 10 at Delhi has to be given some space...

Here's a list of some remarkable individual performances from both the teams.. against each other..

But above all incidences, can we forget that six by Miadad?????
