On Friday evening, Nimbus Communication says no to the deal with Prasar Bharti. This deal should have allowed Doordarshan to live telecast India vs West Indies first ODI at Nagpur... but Neosports were well prepared.

They made the announcement that they won't share live feeds with Doordarshan, and gave an advertisement in every single Indian newspaper - "Ind v WI ODIs live & exclusive on Neopsorts" next morning - Saturday.... That's when the news broke up.

Hundereds asked me how come Doordarshan won't show the match. They also critised me of miss leading them, but the fact is Neopsorts knew the 1st One dayer is on Sunday. There will be no government work and they can gain the lime-light if they refuse the commitments they made as they won the BCCI telecast rights.

Another fact is Neopsorts reaches just 1 million homes in India, and costs lot higher than any other sports channel. It's not sure it comes through Dish Tv or not.. and I can't confirm TaTa Sky will be able to help you either. The offices will be open tomorrow, and I am sure some solution to this will be found.

As a crazy cricket fan myself, all I can do is promise to bring the latest on the matter as soon as it happens, and suggest you hope for the best or make your cable operator pay an-unwilling-amount and get this Neosports channel for you. Meanwhile, Indian team did play against West Indies at Nagpur and the scorecard read - India 338 for 3. West Indies 324 for 8 in 50 overs. I myself didn't see the match, so I better not try to explain what happened. But according to News-reports, Greg Chappell and todays match scorecard - Sachin Tendulkar has a new role in Indian One Day International team.. of a middle order solid batsman, and a leg spinner who can turn the ball and bowl his full 10 overs.

We bat first - we make 300 plus as we did in this match. If we bat second, we make sure we don't lose more than 1 wicket in first 10 overs of mandatory power play..

I bet with above line-up, and the way cricket is played today : we can chase down anything today. If we have those batsman but not the bowlers.. let it be. Lets make batting the core of Indian cricket.

And may be it's time to explore Sachin Tendulkar, the leg-spinning genius middle order batting all-rounder..!!
