We played Caribbean cricket team at their home, then in Malaysia and
also once in last ICC champions trophy... in normal circumstances -
this should be an easy preparation for both India and West Indies teams.
Including the viewers like you and me.. But is it that way? Hundreds are not sure what the match timing will be, thousands don't know which channel to select for live telecast, when and where the matches will be played and so forth. For both the teams - it's like winning something that experts will start calling them the "contenders for 2007 cricket world Cup".  A four ODI Pepsi series means someone has to win 3 matches, otherwise satisfy with a 2-2 draw... and if you dig even deeper - the team that wins the 1st Pepsi Cup ODI at Nagpur on 21st January, will hold the advantage. Weather report is fine and we should be able to watch a full 50 over One day International. This India vs West Indies Day ODI at VCA stadium in Nagpur will be starting at 0900hrs India time. 2230hrs Atlanta (US time), 1530hrs London time, 1130hrs Malaysia (KL) time and 7.20am Middle East time. Question remains is how about the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground's pitch? Well, with first innings scores like 350 (by India), 248 (by Kiwis), 320 by Proteas and 310 against by India against South Africa while chasing that target - Nagpur cricket stadium has always produced runs. The pitches has been as ordered - flat and shining in Nagpur heat. Team composition? Forget that. Rahul Dravid really likes to play his cards close to his chest when it comes to selecting a playing eleven. Which I believe should be a very nice thing to do when you are winning. But when you are not winning, letting everyone know who will play in 2-3 days in advance makes the youngster feel his way though the upcoming match.. Players like Gautam Gambhir, Joginder Sharma and Ramesh Powar to an extent are certain to play the first 1st ODI at Nagpur, so why not tell them for a change.. Who should open for India must be another question for Indian think tank. Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. As simple as that. We better start putting things together now, and allow the certan ones to play. Gambhir should be at no. 3 if he wants to play and can perform. Opening is very important. All 8 ODIs should belong to the best opening partners Indian cricket team every had - Sachin and Sourav.
