With just four overs in full quota, bowlers have relatively less opportunities in T20 cricket than batsmen but when has cricket not been a game of those with willow more than of those with leather? That said, T20 cricket also has a tendency to get change quickly, and bowlers with wicket taking ability can spell their magic..

In 2008, Sohail Tanvir snatched away 22 wickets to win the purple cap and help Rajasthan Royals claim the inagural trophy. RP singh in 2009 with 23 wickets for Deccan Chargers, Pragyan Ojha in 2010 with 21 wickets for Deccan Chargers, Lasith Malinga in 2011 with 28 wickets for Mumbai Indians and Morne Morkel in 2012 with 25 wickets are the other top wicket takers in one season. Who will smile away with the purple cap this year? in following, we're tracking down the best of bowlers in IPL 2013.

IPL 6 had purple cap move around quite a bit but finally rested on head of Dwayne Bravo who was relished bowling later in the inning and snatched away wickets at will. James Faulkner, with two five wicket hauls, remained close behind while Harbhajan Singh marched upto third position with his team winning the final, as did Mitchell Johnson. Sunil Narine and Amit Mishra were the best two spinners of the season while Mohit Sharma made a promise for the future. Dale Steyn bowled superbly too.

Note : There had two super overs this season, Match 7 and Match 21, but only one wicket has fallen (Ravi Rampaul bowled Ben Rohrer). These wickets are not added to the list, or career.
