We had a similar chance at the same time, just before last World Cup in Australia when we were 1-0 up in that "Steve Waugh farewell" 4 test match series....

We blew it. Now we have exactly same chance to show the World that we - the Indians as a cricket team has what it takes to beat the best in the business... and that too in their homes.

South Africa, undoubtly, are the second best cricket team and a win at Cape town will mean no less than a World Cup victory. What a win in next 5 days will also mean we'll regain the dominating cricket we were playing some 10 months ago.... and enter the World Cup as one of the strongest contenders.Rahul Dravid Practising.jpg

The pitch at Newlands ground in Cape town has always been a tricky one. Greame Smith has said in his article today that when the groundsmen at Cape town pour water - it seams. When they keep it dry - it breaks up... but all in all, it never offers the fastness or the bounce you associate with South African pitches. In short - Cape Town is probably the best ground Indian team would have asked for a series decider.

The weather report for this test match is very clear. And as far as team selection is concerned, we might see Gambhir coming in place of Jaffer and might be surprised at Sehwag keeping his place -- but that will happen only if Indian think tank again decides to play 4 bowlers and not include Harbhajan Singh.

Another news is that our wicket keeper - Mahendra Singh Dhoni has several bruises on his fingers but might still play in this last encounter in South Africa. What I personally will like is Gambhir and Dravid opening with two spinners and three seamers but having said that - team compositions don't win you matches. It's the hunger for glory that you need..

With 5 bowlers, even if we get bowled out for 150 while batting first, we will have the bowling to destroy Africa at less than 250 and then even a lead of 200 runs must fetch up this series victory - THAT WE SO BADLY NEED.
