If IPL is an adequate platform, West Indies have a super chance to go all the way in T20 world cup 2012. Caribbean cricketers are highly priced and top performers in IPL over the years and they all know the Sri Lankan conditions. All it needs is some concentrated effort and following bunch of 15 players may be the ones we'll see smiling with the cup..
Schedule : T20 world cup 2012.
Darren Sammy hasn't done too much in test cricket to justify his captainship but in ODIs and T20s, he's as much a game changer as anyone, both the the bat and ball. and even in field. Sammy can use the long handle and bowl economically and he must lead his team from front. Chris Gayle will continue to take his time at the top of the order, allowing young Johnson Charles to chance his arms, although there's Dwayne Smith as well, followed by Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo.
Lendl Simmons will stay on as back-up batsman while Denesh Ramdin has been selected as the lone wicket keeper.
Dwayne Bravo is another allrounder who can turn the games around in all three departments. with Kieron Pollard, another similar player, and captain Sammy, Bravo will do the acceleration during the late overs and bowl middle overs. Andre Russell yet another allround option Windies will have to decide on. Russell can use the new ball as well.
Selectors have done a smart thing by paying some extra attention on bowling department. Fidel Edwards and Ravi Rampaul are two experienced fast bowlers while Sunil Narine is a mysterious spinner batsmen world wide are yet to unraval. Then, there's an unknown identity in Samuel Badree.
West Indies will clash with Australia and Ireland in a bid to qualify for super-8s round. they being their tournament on 22nd september.
