Head to head

39th West Indies v New Zealand test match it was and now, West Indies lead 12 to 9 besides 18 draws. In West Indies, two teams clashed for the 15th time and now home team leads 5 to 1 with 9 draws.

End of day 1 : WI 1st inn = 11/0 in 5 ovs (Gayle 1* + Powell 10*)
Windies' thoughtful decision of bowling first worked, as they bowled out visitors to a moderate total. Apart from Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor who both made fifties and put together a century stand, none of Kiwi batsmen showed the resilience, barring the tailenders who were responsible to push them past two hundred run mark. Kemar Roach was the best bowler of the day, bowling fast and straight. Windies openers batted out 5 overs before stumps.

End of day 2 : NZ 2nd inn = 59/2 in 21 ovs (Wagner 2* + McCullum 1*)
Easily the best test match day Kiwis have had since they won that Hobart test match last year. Trent Boult and Doug Bracewell bowled their hearts out while Tim Southee and Neil Wagner grabbed couple of scalps to fetch 51 runs lead despite counter attacking century from Marlon Samuels. Martin Guptill stretched the lead past hundred to set up the match.

End of day 3 : WI 2nd inn = 135/4 in 43 ovs (Chanderpual 20* + Roach 10*)
Narsingh Deonarine and Sunil Narine turned the match around for home team, eating up 7 Kiwi wickets between them and setting up a highly achievable target of 206 runs which Windies ran after and ate long way into it. Marlon Samuels lead the way once again.

End of day 4 : end of the match
Just 74 more runs to get, Windies got home losing just the night watch-man. A wonderful victory for Windies who've now sealed the series as well.
