South Africa test squad for England tour, July & August 2012.

Tag SA-Eng-2012

England may hold the ICC test mace currently, South Africans are just one point behind. This means the 3 test match series between two teams this July and August will be straight battle for the numero uno position..

Fact : Since readmission to international cricket in 1992, South Africans have maintained a fine record in England, winning 6 tests, losing 6 and drawing other 5.

What would be the result of his 2012 series is too tough to predict but one thing is for sure ~ cricket will be of highest quality because both teams have plenty of quality in their ranks. England, being home team, will have the opportunity to opt for players as per the need but South Africans have announced an allround squad too.

Schedule : South Africa in England 2012.

Graeme Smith will lead the visitors as well as play the povital role as the opener, negotiating the new ball. Smith will have Alviro Petersen as his partner who has played plenty of cricket in English conditions.

Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers will form a strong middle order for Proteas with Jacques Rudolph getting the no.6 position. JP Duminy is named as the back-up batsman in the squad.

Vetern wicket keeper Mark Boucher was to play his last test series but sadly, he
injured his eye in a tour match and announced his retirement next day. Thami Tsolekile was named his replacement.

Bowling arsenals make a champion test team and South Africans have all the firepower they may need. Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel are one of best fast bowling pair in the world but Vernon Philander was recently named South African cricketer of the year not for nothing. Philander is mighty accurate and uses new ball perfectly. Then, Proteas will have the services of partnership breaker Jacques Kallis. Sadly Marchant de Lange, who could touch 150kmph consistently, was initially named and then ruled out due to back injury, replaced by allrounder Albie Morkel. and then, there's Lonwabo Tsotsobe who's always performed with his left arm angle, given a chance.

South African selectors, noticing it'll be near the end of the season in England, have opted for two spinners in leg spinner Imran Tahir to go with left arm orthodox of Robin Peterson.
