Pakistani selectors have sprung a surprise by including Mohammad Sami for the tour of Sri Lanka. 31 year old Sami, who's played 35 tests, 83 ODI and 3 T20s for his country, has been on the sidelines for November 2010 when he last played a test match against South Africa at Abu Dhabi..Inclusion of Sami shows Pakistani selectors are expecting flat conditions in Sri Lanka and hence have opted for a bowler who's quick in the air and can bowl yorkers, if he finds his angle. Sami will be partnered by Umar Gul and Aizaz Cheema in both the formats. Left arm seamer Rahat Ali is new face in one day squad while Junaid Khan will fight for a place in test squad. Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Talha, who were part of squad for series against England in UAE earlier this year but didn't play any game, have been omitted. Middle order batsman Faisal Iqbal, opener Imran Farhat also make a comeback into the national squad while Afaq Raheem and Mohammad Ayub are new faces in batting department. Last two were the top run getters in last Pakistani domestic season and have earned their spots. Pakistan will continue to open with Mohammad Hafeez in both the formats, with Taufeeq Umar joining him in tests while Nasir Jamshed will partner in one dayers. captain Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq are part of both the formats. Adnan Akmal is retained as the test keeper while Sarfraz Ahmed gets yet another chance to prove he can score runs in limited overs formats.
