If there's one cricketer who owes his success to emergence of IPL, it's Yusuf Pathan. A no one turned overnight star, Yusuf Pathan has been most talked about cricketer for most past of last two IPL auctions and not for no reason but, this season, he's been at his lowest. Today, mighty Pathan showed faith with which Kolkata had retained him, scoring some valuable runs which at the end proved to be the difference against table toppers Delhi Daredevils. Electing to bat first at neutral venue Pune, Kolkata were given a brisk start by in-form captain Gautam Gambhir but Jacques Kallis and Brendon McCullum took their time to built that launching pad. Once set, Yusuf Pathan and Laxmi Ratan Shukla did well but acceleration was left little too late, leaving them around a total Delhi believed to overhaul.

Two wild openers, David Warner and Virender Sehwag, started Delhi's chase while Gambhir selected his bowlers smartly. Superstitious Laxmipathi Balaji to follow smart Shakib Al Hasan and then experienced Jacques Kallis ~ Kolkata impressed in the field an asking rate continued to mount despite good knocks by Naman Ojha and Mahela Jayawardene.
