Match summary

Hyderabad has always been a beautiful batting wicket and even though Deccan haven't won too many matches this season they'd batted well which must have given them hope as they went out to chase handsome total posted by Punjab. Sadly, it didn't work out. In-form Shikhar Dhawan was claimed early by Praveen Kumar but Parthiv Patel and Daniel Harris collected 21 robust runs before David Hussey claimed two wickets in one over to crush home tean's hopes.

Earlier, Punjab were given a quick fire start by Mandeep Singh and Shaun Marsh. Left-right combination collected 55 runs confidently against the new ball before part time spinner Shikhar Dhawan knocked Marsh over off his pads. Nitin Saini couldn't last long but Mandeep kept the tempo going, reaching his highest IPL score and stretching it past the highest score by any Kings player this season, bettering 66 by David Hussey who was too showing lots of intent at other end. Azhar Mahmood threatened to strike big but was run out. David Miller finished visitor's innings on a high but thanks to some good bowling during late over, Deccan managed to keep their target within range.

Fact

**Deccan Chargers now have used 23 players this season, the most by any team. Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore have played 22 different players so far.
**Deccan Chargers hate Hyderabad, their home venue. They've now lost 14 out of 15 matches here, winning just one match against Bangalore last year.
