4th Pune Warriors v Deccan Chargers IPL match it was and now Deccan have won 3 while Pune just have 1 one to their credit so far.

Match summary

Only one win from 8 matches, Deccan came into this match desperate for a win to keep their hopes alive. Thankfully, their batsmen had put up a formidable total on board and now Pune had a challenge in hand to stop their losing streak. In-form Manish Pandey departed first ball of the innings but IPL debutant Michael Clarke, with Sourav Ganguly, set up a good foundation with 90 runs stand from first 11 over. Asking rate had blown over two runs a ball which visitors couldn't achieve, despite yet another good innings from Steven Smith.

Earlier, captain Kumar Sangakkara and Cameron White constructed the healthy total for Deccan after a dismal start. Parthiv Patel and Shikhar Dhawan departed in first 5 overs, forcing White and Sangakkara to bat out first few overs quitely. The fifty run stand between the pair came off 43 balls but they stretched it to 100 off just 69 balls and then 150 off 85 balls. Both of them got out at same score but Deccan had already posted a huge total on board.

Highest partnerships in IPL = 157 between Kumar Sangakkara and Cameron White is now new 3rd highest stand ever and record for 3rd wicket.
Both teams lost wicket off first ball of the innings.. how often that has happened in IPL history?
