Match : Pune Warriors v Delhi Daredevils, match 31 of IPL 2012.
Venue/Date : Sahara stadium in Pune, 24th April 2012.
Debut : none.
Toss : Pune, elected to bat.
Result : Delhi won by 8 wickets.
Man of the match : Virender Sehwag.
Taking revenge of the defeat at Feroz Shah Kotla couple of days ago, Delhi returned the favour to Pune Warriors today, and in some style. Chasing a moderate target, Delhi ridiculed Warriors' bowling with captain Virender Sehwag leading the way after running Mahela Jayawardene out. It wasn't as carefree innings from Sehwag today, concentrating on ground strokes, probably taking the responsibility of captainship, finishing the match with four overs to spare.
Earlier, Pune were off to a terrible start, losing in-form Jesse Ryder for no score and then captain Sourav Ganguly who only managed to take home team off the mark but after than, Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa, the Karnataka pair, gelled well, slowly building up the half century partnership and stretching it past hundred mark, the first for Pune Warriors ever. Ball wasn't coming onto the bat as easily but Uthappa and Pandey managed to collect 96 runs from last 10 overs to raise a par total on board. 145 is now new 7th highest partnership in IPL.
Fact : This was first defeat for Pune Warriors at home, after winning first two games here at new stadium.
