Head to head

111st Australia v West Indies test match it was. Now, Australia have won 54, West Indies 32 with 1 tie and 24 draws. In West Indies, two teams clashed for the 48th time and visitors lead 19 to 14 with 15 draws. At the venue, Windsor Park in Dominica, this was the first meeting.

End of day 1 : Aus 212/7 in 90 ovs (Wade 22* + Strac 24*)
It was a bold decision from visitors to bat first on a damp looking hardish pitch but David Warner and Shane Watson had given them good start before Shane Shillingford ate up four batsmen while seamers got one each to put Windies on top at the close of first day. There's enough on the pitch for all types of bowlers and hence Windies must take their chances to square the series if they can..

End of day 2 : WI 165/8 in 65 ovs (C'paul 34* + R'paul 24*)
Cleaning up the tail has been a problem for Windies in this test series and it happened again with last Aussie 3 wickets almost doubling the score, thanks to a superb maiden century from Mathew Wade and then, bowlers snatched heart out of windies top order. Thanks to Chanderpual and Rampaul, the 1st innings will go into day 3 but home team had dug up a hole they'll need a miracle to comeback from and square the series.

End of day 3 : Aus 200/6 in 65 ovs (Hussey 17* + Harris 4*)
Windies bowlers toiled hard today but the hole they had dug up on second had remains a mountain to climb. Ricky Ponting made his maiden half century of the tour, as did Ed Cowan. Aussies are already 300+ in lead.

End of day 4 : WI 173/5 in 67.1 ovs (Deonarine 11*)
It was good effort from home team not to let visitor's tail wag too long this time target overhead had already mounted and then Michael Clarke spun the surprise, taking three wickets including Shivnarine Chanderpaul in last over of the day. Do Windies still have an outside chance?

End of day 5 : end of the match
Darren Sammy counter attacked to a half century but Aussies always had a firm grip and completed a handsome 75 runs victory with captain Michael Clarke taking a five wicket haul.
