Match summary
Mumbai Indians may have the biggest names in their squad but they've never won IPL trophy and even this year, they don't seem to have found their best combination yet. Against relatively easier team Punjab in this match, Mumbai, at home, didn't do enough and went on to lose in the last over.

Electing to bat first, brand new opening pair of James Franklin with Sachin Tendulkar who was returning after missing 5 games in a row, worked well as 51 runs came from first 8 overs but wickets in back to back overs pegged home team back. Franklin continued his lazy elegance with Dinesh Karthik but that acceleration didn't come towards the end, hanging Mumbai to a par total.

Punjab, knowing Wankhede is a good chasing venue, began confidently with wicket keeper opener Nitin Saini and Mandeep Singh adding 48 for opening wicket and then Aussie pair of Shaun Marsh and David Hussey setting the launch pad. Azhar Mahmood provided the firework and Punjab reached home with 3 balls and 6 wickets in hand.
